I reckon the successor is the sticking point, he can see we are improving but wants to make sure they get the next coach right

If we name a successor prior to the end of the season (not sure of the chances of this happening) and Frawley continues to delay talks, that's a sure sign he's gone

I'm not sure we are even seriously looking for one yet

I would be very surprised if we weren't. But the candidates wouldn't have to give a reply until seasons end.

People need to understand where Chip is coming from.

25 years old, coming to the prime of his career, and he simply wants to know what is future is going to be for the next 4-5 years. Fair enough.

He's been through alot of false dawns and you only have so long to get success in football.

Chip loves the dees, and if Roosy put pen to paper for the next 4-5 years, I think he'd sign on the dotted line.

Well that ain't gonna happen so if he is waiting for that - then he better have a rethink.

Best case scenario is that Roos will commit to his 3rd year option before the end of the year and that will prompt Chip to sign.

there is still a big possibility Chip has agreed to terms with another side and it's just a formaility, who knows

i am interested to see if Hogan plays some games in the back end of the year if Chip goes back when he comes in

Not knowing who the next coach is isn't stopping anyone else from re-signing like Dunn,he can see the direction of the club.

Our defence is ranked 8th this year without chip and a top 6-7 mid might be the way to go with Cross and Bernie coming to the end of their careers.

This may be the last chance to get a top 6-7 mid for a long time hopefully,we could have Chip for another 5-6 years or a top mid for 12+ years.

Having said all that,if Chip decided to re-sign with us,i'd be stoked and I don't even surf.

Someone mentioned poor body language from Frawley ?

Let's revisit this after last night.

His unbridled joy after the win and in the singing of the club song was palpable.

I thought he worked really hard last night. There was no better indication of this than the last Kent goal. Watching the replay, Frawley was sprinting his guts out to catch up on the outside of Kent, I suspect to help if the Kent run went pear shaped. ( not sure he could have caught up to provide an option).

He may well be gone but I don't think he is playing football with a "switched off " attitude.

Sure.

I also noticed Watts lead so hard and fast in the last 5 minutes when we were UP. When we were WINNING.

They need to be able to run just as hard when we're losing, or when chasing an opponent also. You're talking about half a quarter of footy where we turned it on and making mention of Frawley's body language. Did you watch the first half?

Again, myself and those I went with last night noticed that Frawley still doesn't get it at times.

I'm over people defending the guy. Like he's some untouchable.

He needs to take a leaf out of Chris Dawes' 'effort and presence' book.

He looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane. We need consistent effort and presence from him at all times, and we're not getting it.

Rubbish. He'll sign one way or the other at the end of the season.

I don't see how that could have happened isn't it against the rules to sign someone while they are contracted elsewhere?

Worked for Scully.......

Back on subject.......I don't know whether Chip will stay or go.

At the start of the season it was a concern should he go. Roos has brilliantly shown the team that we don't need him as our number 1 defender any more. If he goes, he will not be missed. If he stays he can be a real contributor to the future success of the club.

I hope if he chooses to leave, because he " wishes to taste success" he considers the high failure rate of this method. Not everyone gets lucky like Brian Lake.

Nathan Buckley left Brisbane and missed out on 3 flags. Probably would have been 4 if he was in the side as well!

Leigh Colbert to North....Jared Rivers to Geelong....Nick dalSanto to North....Sylvia to Freo ( might work yet if he can get in the side often enough)....Goddard to Essendon.....

I think Chip has given us plenty up forward this season and I was rapt with his obvious joy at getting a win.

I think though it is the height of arrogance to think he would know better than Jackson and Roos who would be a good successor.

Still think his decision was made ages ago and he is rationalising. Maybe he is having second thoughts giving the feeling in the group and the obvious improvement.

Yeah I did watch the first half and everyone was truly horrible,

You are just seeing stuff that I don't see but hey - we all have our opinions.

On Chris Dawes - if everyone took a leaf out of Dawes effort and presence book we would be playing finals this year. ( Nutbeans prayer - dear lord - please give Jeremy Howes hands to Chris Dawes - amen)

Technically yes but managers are bottom feeding scumbags who would have some sort of paperwork signed signalling a players intent to sign for a club based on agreed terms.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
