He was a mad Melbourne supporter and his family are still all mad Melbourne supporters, including cousins, as well as a lot of his school friends.

We should be having a serious crack at getting him back to where he belongs, as a little birdie says he is keen to come home.

Overrated, wouldn't give up a first rounder for him, if they want pick 20 ish and a player like blease sire if not there are others to look at

I agree he isnt worth our first round pick.. but i dont think he's overrated.

West Coast usually has alot of injuries and therefore leaving Gaff to create outside run that he isnt given, so therefore giving the illusion that he isnt playing well. I dont think he's overrated, i think he is rated fairly, he is a young gun who needs better support. I do not rate West Coast's midfield

I think he has stagnated, but has serious talent, and would be a perfect Roos-rejuvenation-project.

The real question is what WestCoast would want us to give up for a former pick 4.

I know it's not really relevant now, but it will be to them, especially if we're not offering our first pick.

He would be a great addition.

People who think he's not worth our first round pick need to re-think it I reckon - he's a smooth, quick outside runner with lovely delivery. He's also, as seen against the Pies, tailor-made for the MCG.

If we end up with pick 4 or so, would happily let it go for Gaff.

No where near our first pick, the bloke is a massive down hill skier who can not handle the slightest tag in a game. If an "outside runner" as people are calling him cant average more than he does on the wide expanses of Subiaco then he has some issues. Would not be on my radar at all.

I’m not sure about a pick inside the top 5 for him. Maybe if we end up with two first rounders.

I have queries on his composure and decision making. Our list does need line breaker’s and good outside run.

If Gaff is very keen on coming back home, as he is out of contract we could use the PSD threat as leverage in negotiations with WC.

Haven’t heard too much about Gaff’s go home factor though.

I wouldn't. Would you take him over a Brayshaw for example? Unless it was a Tyson deal I would not be rushing.

I think we gave them a former pick 4 recently. We also gave them Bennell.

When I think top 5 pick I think A grade player, gaff to me is a solid player who provides good run would contribute to our best 22 each week but probably isn't an A grader at the moment, May well become one. So our second round pick and maybe a fringe player as steak knives in my opinion would be a fair offer from our end.

He's a second round pick quality at the moment. Good accumulator who runs hard. But lack of physicality means he's not that dangerous. Would be an upgrade to our relatively weak outside midfield stocks.

West Coast wouldn't want to lose him for that. The only reason he'd come to us would be if he was super keen to come back to Melbourne and I haven't heard anything to that publicly and usually there's a bit of a rumour going around before a guy would move.

I know we need young players but I'd rather pick up the 27 year old Matt Rosa for nothing in free agency than a second rounder on Gaff I think. That way you get the impact player for a few years and have drafted a successor.

You'd think Rosa would cost at least a 2nd/3rd round compo

Compo is based on a players age and contract from his new club, so he'd cost us something if we offered him say a 4 year deal

If Sylvia left as a free agent and got us pick 23 he'd cost something wouldn't he?

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
