NO, NO and NO!!!...worst thing you could do

you'd hate to be the bloke on the interchange trying to stop him running out on the ground, like putting a piece of salmon infront of a grizzley bear and telling him to sit down and wear the red vest.

Dogs by 45.

Dogs by 45.

you're starting to stammer, and this is something octogenarians like OD get at because of their age.

either take 2 bex and lie down or get back to assimilating youth into the world.

Viney as Sub?

Let him ease into the game.

He doesn't need to ease into the game, he has a thirst for the contest I haven't seen in a Melbourne player since his dad!

Would love to thrash a team for a change. (And not have a heart attack in the last 10min of the game)

i thought that because Adelaide came back, and we'd fight them off, and they'd come back again etc. this made the win more crucial for our playing group as we held our reserve and showed some resilience to fight out a win. Much more beneficial than a thumping.

Although a thumping this weekend, with us giving one for a change, would be absolutely amazing ;)

I will remind you that our largest score for the year is 81.

As Paul Roos has said defence first and the offensive side will come.

I don't think thrashings are on Roos agenda yet - first and foremost is restricting the doggies scoring.

It's not that pretty but I am more than happy to watch it for the rest of the year if it means we are competitive. Next year we can develop our Geelong like offensive game.

I think we are going to make it really tough for the doggies to kick a winning score, the game will be decided on if they can restrict us at the other end.

A few on Demonland are saying the doggies defence is poor and their forward line clearly lacks a key target so this might come down to a battle of the midfields.

Can't underestimate the dogs though - they have been very competitive/consistent this year. However I can't help but think Melbourne at $3 is pretty good odds.

They have, but so have we really, only been belted once

I feel as though Dawes up front might prove to be the difference, the crows mids are better than the dogs and we restricted them

I realise someone had to make way for Garland. But, I can't help feeling for Alex. Really don't think he's put a foot wrong since coming into the side. Only possible positive is that, maybe, he needed a rest and chance to freshen up.

Can't really argue with the choice of who had to go, either, given the two other obvious choices (Pedersen & Dunn) have both been playing good footy.

I guess it's a good sign when it's not easy to decide who to drop to make way for someone who needs to come back, such as Col...

I tipped our 3 point victory last week so in an attempt to go two in a row:

Dee's will romp home 8 points this weekend.

Pedersen BOG.

I don't think Dunn was ever an 'obvious choice' - he has been starting 18 for the last 2 years - just as important as McDonald

Yes, and we restrict them to 22 points.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
