GAME DAY - Round 7

Featured Replies

I hope we don't have any more anti-Pedo rants on this forum. He's been really handy this year and improving with each game. I also think Watts has been redeemed

If JKH had kicked those two goals, he's the NAB Rising Star nominee. Let's hope he can grab a few in the next half, they usually go to winning teams, and this is quite the upset!

What happened with Salem? Subbed on and then subbed off? How does that work?

Cannot recall a more quiet Adelaide crowd. Love it

If it wasn't for the umpires I wouldn't have realized

Concussion sub. Georgiou came back on. Not really needed now with Lynch subbed off though

I hate Dwayne Russell so much. Anyone would think we were playing Hawthorn the way he is bleating on about how amazing this is.

Just saw the headclash footage.

Hate to say it, but I reckon Viney might have a problem with that. Elected to bump, looks like his shoulder got a bit of Lynch's head. Not sure, but would not be surprised if the MRP gave him something.

If a player is suspected of being concussed, he can be subbed off for 20 minutes to undergo a concussion test. If he passes the test, then he gets to come back on and the sub puts the vest back on and waits for a real sub latter in the game.

Nah Viney will be fine.

Chip came back to the sidelines and was doing some running testing the foot/ankle.

They did not say how it looked. Hope it's ok, they started double teaming Dawes, Frawley takes that away from them a bit.

Shows just how even the afl really is

BTW. Some great defence and guts from Terlich. I'm starting to get on this guy's bandwagon.

I've been on it from the start. Just as long as you don't let him take the kick outs and limit his possessions to areas where turnovers aren't instant goals, he's definitely a best 22 player...for now.

Unfortunately at Sydney airport and missing the fun. Sounds fantastic. What has changed in a week apart from them all having a red hot go? I must say having seen them over the last two weeks would not have picked this. May be the sign of a young side on the way up. Or are they listening to Roos at last?

both teams will have some sore players in the 2nd half

Georgiou, Watts, Jaensch....

He is the epitome of the word condescending towards us.

Given what I saw against Sydney, i'm surprised we are winning but not surprised with the style and effort. I can see the beginnings of a football team

pedders just loves this tight footy.

he must think PR is a godsend.

Looks like Brian Lakes body is shot. Reckon the Hawks will wave the cheque book at Chip.

I think you're right. It'll be country loyalty vs big city bucks. I know what I'm backing.

Watts will be a star when we come good as a team. He has poise and delivers well.

The commentators sais that what Salem did was either flukey or he will be a very good player - I think he might be good!!

Thanks! Didn't know that.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
