Let's temper our enthusiasm.....he's played for 5 minutes.

We're so desperate for a shining knight that anyone who kicks straight and looks the goods is the messiah.

PS. I loved the way he moved.

lol.. In that 5 minutes, he out played Watts and Howe...

But i do get your point... Hopefully there isn't to much hope/pressure placed on his shoulders... He looks the part, but its early days...

This is the slight worry. Those are the only three young midfielders that we can put in the bank. Very early to say that about Salem after one game but unless we completely bugger it up, he looks the real deal. Can probably add JKH to the list if he is to be modelled into a midfielder. That's four bankables, along with Jones obviously but he's not as young as he once was.

The rest are currently looking like questions marks, if we're being honest - Toumpas, Trengove, Watts, Michie, Kent, Blease, Tapscott etc etc.

We still need to bring some quality youngsters into this group.

Yeah, it's a worry but it's less of a worry when it was just Viney as your blue chippers to help Jones.

It is looking like Salem and Tyson will be around playing good footy for a while.

Bloody early though.

So much ti like about this

So much balance, great marking action even though he didnt take it, great recovery, great poise

But my fave part was the strength to flick his opponent out of the way on to the ground

then the balance

then the kick

Love this kid. And look at the chest on him!! Some people thought he wasnt physically ready LOL. Hes stronger through the body than any other debutant Ive seen this season

Obviously you haven't seen Luke Dunstan play.

Tyson has played all of 20 games, Salem a qtr and a bit. Some great kids who will develop together. Dunn's been brilliant. When Garland comes back Pedo might be dropped. Yes he's improved his game but he is depth for the list.

id drop Watts over Pedersen... At least pedo is showing desire...

You're right, T. It doesn't. But Watts is playing on a wing, with occasional rotations across half back and half forward. Garland is solely a defender and Pederson is a KPF/B and 2nd ruck. They're very different, IMO.

When we are discussing the MFC neither can I jr.

Out side of the MFC well that is another story.

There are however A large number on here who have the problem every time someone gets 15 possessions in a practise match.

lol lets give them each 10 year contracts and announce them our saviours.

Might even be able to get grange wallis to paint a lovely picture of the pair dragging the club from the depths up a ladder?

of course I'm kidding!

tyson looks like he has some class, has trouble handling a tag at this stage.

salem played for like 15 minutes? that 15 minutes looked good, but ill save judgement till he's a played a fair bit more id imagine.

One of the best things about Salems goal was the fact every single player in the team got around him after he kicked it. It used to make me sick that when we were losing by 100 points our new boys would kick a goal and noone would even high 5 him. It's a great sign of the change in culture at the club. Players are playing for one and other again.

You mean like JKH's first career goal vs West Coast?

Clearly the players had a stern talking to by the coaching group after that disgusting oversight. Remnants of the shithouse culture we've had for years.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
