Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I reckon pick 2 goes to the Giants for Shiel

I reckon pick 3 goes to the Suns for picks 11 and 15

pick up Duggan and Wellar with those picks

maybe the other way ?

What about our Hypothetical compo pick & P-23, to GWS for Shiels & Jaksch ?

& what about our 1st Pick & 3rd Rnd Pick, to the GCSuns for Picks 11 & 15?... or one pick & a player?

I like this would pick 11 get the Tom Mitchell deal done. That would net us shiel, Mitchell and pick 15 possibly duggAn or a de goey go a mid with our second rd pick stretch as a 3rd round pick midfield fixed go kpp next draft

If we enquired with Sydney about Mitchell and they agreed that pick 11 would get seal the deal with Mitchell, then we should look at trading 3 for 11 and 15.

Ahern, Laverde would be my picks with 15, but most likely they'll be gone.. But with players like Goddard touted to slip, maybe a quality player can sneak through to 15.

One Tasmanian?

Im shocked if this is right.

Tasmania's population is roughly half a million.

1 player worth inviting to the combine.

Im glad the AFL has stepped in and taken over the running of Afl Tas.

I was so sick of hearing how good it was that we would get our usual 4-5 tasmanians drafted each year. (Mostly rookies)

Development in tas is terrible. Time for something to happen.

Thinking about Brayshaw, would North be interested in packaging something/someone with their first pick to get our first pick, thus ensuring they collect him?

Would be a nice combination of sentiment and suitability.

Adding to that, North must be one of several clubs who would be very interested in using an early pick to collect one the the multiple tall forward targets that are hovering in the top-5 range.

We may have several suitors for that first pick, and I agree with a few others that it if Petracca will be gone by our choice then the value of that pick goes down for us.

One the other hand, there look to be multiple good prospects - midfielders and effective rebounders - that would suit our needs around the 10-20 mark. Ellis, De Goey, Marchbank, Duggan, Laverde, Blakely, - a lot of these profiles suit, and we'd only need one to slip. Even the previously much-touted Hugh Goddard is floating in predicted position.

Doubt it.

I reckon James Brayshaw might be desperate to recruit him, but nobody else.

They wouldn't knock him back if he was the best on the board at their pick, but the club won't go out of their way to acquire him.

They are flooded with his type, and the kid barracks for Freo anyway.

If you knew who the club were targeting in the upcoming draft, would you mention it on here or zip your lip?

If I honestly knew, I'd keep it to myself.

As long a shot as it is, I'd hate to somehow potentially hurt my club's chances of getting the player they want.

Lloyd on Footy Classified just said if GWS had pick 1 they'd choose Petracca, if Saints had it they'd choose McCartin... and if MFC had it, they'd select Wright.

Not heard that until now, and he didn't elaborate as to what he's basing that comment on.

Too many variables right now to make an accurate guess about our draft intentions. I'm guessing Roos sees the midfield as a weaker component of our structure than our forward or back line, so wouldn't Petracca be the best option for us?

If we are targeting Cameron and are successful, our forward line (touch wood) is settled for years to come. Although we all know by now not to count our chickens before they hatch...

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
