Was reading this article in regards to Tyson and pick 2 when this caught my eye..

Roos also hopes to improve his footballers as human beings, one of the reasons the entire list will take part in Monday's Walk Against Family Violence from Federation Square.

"It is something I have been involved in through a family friend and I am really proud to be part of it and to get the word. There is no question our footballers are in more of a bubble and can be shielded, so it is important to expose them to these kind of causes to get them some education."

What a man this bloke is. you could walk into his office with open arms and talk just about anything whether its family or personal issues.

Well done Roosy

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr Roos last night at the AFL draft, I just wished him all the luck and said I am a die hard fan and happy to have him and PJ on board, Paul reckons "we'll impress some people next year" said with his iconic smile. I was giddy like a school girl haha!

Bravo Toady. Finally something truly witty. Took you a while. Forgot the apostrophe in "Melbourne's", though, but that's a matter for another thread.

Yeah I was happy when I read that about all the players doing the walk. He is right. These players live in a bubble and its good to do something for a very good cause. They may learn something as well.

Is that Saty in the last photo, on the right in the yellow tshirt?

Not unless he has given his beard a massive trim and lost a bit off the top.

He's long been an advocate of the benefit of meditation.

I imagine he has encouraged at least some of the playing group to explore the benefits for themselves.

Interesting Roosy mentions he does meditation.

Good on him, no wonder he seems so relaxed.

It's not just that, it's the way he answers questions in the best possible way.

Clarkson will look at you sideways and try to 'figure you out' - hell, we all do that - but Roos just seems to take every question at face value and not be offended by the implicity of any question. And there were a few of those questions when he was thinking of being coach of this club, and certainly when he took over.

He might have to meditate a bit more next year given that he's the coach of the circus known as the Melbourne footy club.

So must Neeld have been given 95% of the time our players ran out and played like they were in a different place.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
