So Chocko vs nobody so far.

They're gonna interview 2 further current AFL assistants but they are not Rob Harvey, Ratten, Richardson, Goodwin, Tudor or Burns - who's left?

They were interviewing two of the St Kilda assistants - Adam Kingsley and what''s his name - clearly searching far and wide!

So Port are a bit miffed... cant say I blame them. Most clubs would have organised coaches and assistants way before this. Johnny come lately f'd up Seaford Swamp residents want to come along and poach.. well id tell them to f off too. Poor form St kIlda...every thing we've come to expect of you though.

It's an interesting tactic to only agree to be interviewed after being assured of the job...

Kind of means you can let your hair down at the interview:

"So Alan, how would you handle..."

"Look, whatever, where is Montagna, the daft [censored]..."

Walks out the door, sees Montagna on the track:

"Hey Leigh! You made 4 mistakes; you hired a dwarf comedian, you lit him on fire, you didn't compensate him, and you weren't traded last week..."

The Saints' handling of the situation was unusual to say the least and most of us didn't see the Richardson appointment coming but it seems that Caroline Wilson is really pizzed off about their behaviour - St Kilda double dealing.

This paragraph from the above piece is an absolute pearler from the conflicted journo who earlier this year was pushing Choco Williams for the then vacant Melbourne coaching job:-

Mark Williams was another victim of the Saints' double-dealing. It is disappointing that the club chose to leak to senior AFL personnel, media and other club staffers that Williams had botched his interview and demanded too much of the struggling club.

Get it?

She's right about the fact that this information shouldn't have been leaked out because its quite damaging to Williams and his reputation and possibly will reflect on his working relationship with Richmond and the players who come under his influence but ...

It's a bit of a laugh coming from someone who earns a living to an extent from reporting on information leaked to her to complain about Williams' victimhood resulting from leaked information.

Hypocrite.

will be so depressing if we lose to them in round 1

How the MFC won two games in 2013 is one of the great unsolved mysteries.

It appears the MFC have so far recruited a number of unwanted, old or injury prone players to its players list.

IMO 2014 will be a season of continued pain and suffering.

Shades of that basket case from 2012 Port Adelaide heading into Round 1 2013, never count your chickens before they are hatched. They may be a rabble at the moment but when you have players like Fisher, Steven, Hayes, Armitage & Reiwoldt you never know. If they have big games and with Smith and Ray providing good outside run they will be dangerous if we don't show them enough respect, but the same could be said of them if they go in thinking we have the easy beats of the last 2 seasons coming into Round 1, we should be off to a good start

It is funny but so also is Graham Cornes who sinks the slipper into the Saints for nabbing Richardson. However, as one reader points out in the comments section, Port did the same thing when it secured Hinkley who had just signed a contract with Gold Coast at the time - St Kilda's disruptive antics in poaching Alan Richardson were disgraceful

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
