I'm not saying we will get him, but I understand that we are into Daisy in a big way and are making a big play. It is almost certain he will go to Carlton, but with Roosy on board, we are having another go.

Not for 750k a year. How many high paid recruits do we want injured at the same time?

I not really into him that much,,, although I have to admit to not watching collingwood much over the last couple of years.

However my take is that Daisy was a very sort of outside player, at the start of his career, had a couple of good seasons proving him a player, then has gone back again.

I suspect he's overrated & not such a good get, So I hope we are just pushing up his price, & not really after his Signature.... there are others I'd prefer to fill our list spots.

pass on Daisy....

I use to dislike him. Pretty sure it started when he had a hair cut and it made the back page news back in 2006 or 2007. Always thought he was over rated.

He ripped it up in 2010, 2011 and 2012. He was tough would run hard both ways, use the ball well and would be heavily involved in every contest he could. He became one of my favourite players to watch over that period.

Only question is his recent injury concerns. He hasn't been able to get back on the park for a long time now.

My thoughts are that he would go to Carlton. But lets offer him a heap of cash and see if we can get him. Landing a free agent is a great way for us to turn our midfield around. Have to try and retain Sylvia of course or accept reduced compensation at least.

my concerns apart from the ankle which may be a real injury or maybe a guise... who knows, but it also looks to me like he doesn't like FigJam & E'd.

... if this is partly bitterness towards the Coach & Pres, then its been going since he was mentioned a few years ago in GWS discussions, & he re-signed with the Pies at that time on a 1Yr contract,,, if I recall correctly... 1Yr ???

My gut feel, smells something wrong here, with both the Pies, & with Daisy as well.... takes 2 to Tango..... a helpful Culture, I think Not !!!

Pass !

don't need to pay anything like that for him dee man; he's a restricted free agent. just gotta outbid the pies (and blues, clearly).

Ah yes, free agency. That new chestnut.

With that said, a fit Dale Thomas would be just as good a pick up as a Scott Selwood or some of the other players touted as potential pick-2 trades. Fit, however, is the key word here.

Quality player, we should absolutely make a phone call, but paying the way overs i believe it would take to get him in red and blue probably isn't the best idea.

Yep he has not been IMO committed to the club since the GWS started... played some good footy, but...

we at Melbourne in our situation of having to establish & New & Powerful culture,,, Do NOT need half in, half out players, who are about them. Daisy is only a hard running player chasing $$$$$$

.... honestly if you want to learn, & want to change, then get the best to learn from.

if we can get 2 Top Quality Elders into this group, the Best attitudes & culture shifters,,, we only need them to help carry us thru the next 2 seasons amongst our list. Our young leaders like NJones will be 28 after the 2 years is finished, & he'll be our newbreed Elder then... right now he needs to learn from the best.

Chappy would be dynamite for young Taggert & imo for Col Sylvia. not to mention Tappy.

Jude Bolton would be great for Watts & all the Mids.

SThompson would be really handy between the Mids & Halfback. excellent for our training & preparation & professionalism.

There is no way Daisy Thomas will come to melbourne if Paul Roos introduces leading teams, Thomas is no fan of LT.

I'd love to have him, but I think the price tag may be too much. If we're talking about paying the same sort of money as we are for Dawes and Clark then it could be a bad thing for our list management prospects.

No, back to the beloved bosom of Mick at the Blues on a big, big money deal for 4-5 years.

If he does go to Blues would you have a go at Tom Bell?

High pricetag, dodgy ankle.

Not overly enthused.

and only a couple of years of Truly A-grade form. no thanks.

how come the Pies aren't fighting for him.... how come GWS aren't banging his door down?

he had a few ordinary seasons, then 2 great years (2010-11) where he stepped it up,,, then a couple of ordinary ones again.

http://finalsiren.com/PlayerStats.asp?PlayerID=1621

no thanks.

Has already verbally agreed to go to blues, just finalising length of contract. Won't be coming to the dees.

He's Mouse's love child. There is absolutely no guarantee his ankle will hold up to 'match' conditions. At the money hes asking thats a big roll of the dice!! Carlton are welcome to that risk.

There's better paths for us to investigate. Carlton will be playing in Black and white stripes the way theyre going with people.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
