I see Colin Sylvia as his obvious mentor.

Shame we no longer have Beamer. He could teach Heath how to urinate against a bar or two.

A veteran, repeat offending bad 'boy'. Like we need one of those!

He's not a bad boy. He just gets naughty from time to time.

In fact, a package deal including Shaw crossing over with Didak could introduce the young impressionable lads at the club to the cultural mores of the Geebung Polo Club and other similar fine establishments.

Seriously though, we've seen enough of Shaw to understand why Bucks needs to rid himself of this element.

Ridiculous! So we'd say no to Dane Swan, Buddy 'everyone's heard the rumour of 3 strikes' Franklin or Tom Liberatore.

This club is turning a corner with the recruitment of a coach who may not be the best tactician or the best strategist, but one who is certainly the most inspirational and able to instil a belief in players. The best running half back flanker is on the market for the cheapest price you'd ever get and we're saying no he might hurt the culture. **** we're weak! Back our coaches to do their job and put him in line and we pick up our second top need at a 3rd round draft pick.

Yes yes yes yes yes

Nope. He is not a free agent, therefore we would need to give something of value to get him. If we could get him for free or very very cheaply I would be all for it.

I'm of the belief that Melbourne supporters on here greatly exaggerate these 'issues' that Heat Shaw supposedly has.

There's been absolutely nothing other than speculation to suggest that he is on the outer at Collingwood. Why is it that when it comes to an article written about an opposition

player, people take every word as gospel? Yet if there's an article written about Melbourne or a player for the MFC the same posters will take that with a grain of salt?

I just read from the words of Dale Thomas himself saying that the only problem he has at the club is that 'he cares so much'. I would kill to see our backman speaking to one another with the same passion

Heath Shaw seems to speak with. He cares about the jumper. Wow, he had a brain-fade last weekend and gave a goal to Port for getting angry with Monfries. How many times has Lynden Dunn 'acted tough'

on the field only to give pointless free-kicks away. He offers less than half the output of Heath Shaw when it comes to his value to the team.

In the end, I don't care if we go after him or if he stays. The point remains, he is a very good player and people on here seem to completely exaggerate these issues.

Ahhhh Steve, doesn't want Daniel "Instant culture" Cross who will cost us nothing, but does want Heath "Culture cancer" Shaw who Collingwood have said they'd want a first round pick for....

Great stuff, champagne comedy.

Jesus you pea-brain, go back and read the Cross thread and you'll see that I am all for getting him to the club.

You concentrate so hard on trying to make everything comical that you seem to miss these things though.

Really? All I can see in that thread from you is you arguing about stats.

We actually have no idea. It's all speculation. It seems like his personality is more difficult to manage than some other players.

The rest is pure speculation.

There's another Cross thread floating around it seems.

Gotcha. Retract my comment about you not wanting him then, sorry about that. I was going by the "main" thread only.

For the record, I was highlighting his stats to show he is still playing well, not to say he's as good as Jones.

he's a very good footballer, but he is a DH and not what we need right now, and we have more pressing areas in out team to address atm.

Yes, I completely understand what you were drawing out of a stat like that Stuie.

What do you mean "stat like that"? I posted a comparison of about 15 stats between Cross and Jones... Which one in particular are you talking about?

Jeezus Steve and Stuie, give it up. Now you've gone and got Bitter into the exchange. Kiss and make up (not that there's anything wrong with make-up Bitter)

He may be a DH but he's a DH who can play football. Would definitely have him if the opportunity presented.

Roos will have a no DH policy at this club. Shaw is a DH...no thanks.

Are you sure Soidee. Go through that Premiership line up and he transformed the careers of at least 3 budding DH's

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
