Ok so if Jack Watts gets put up for trade at the end of the year, what do you guys think is a fair realistic trade?

If GWS were interested I say a Taylor Adams straight swap would be fair.

How about Carlton? A Chris Yarran and a Tom Bell to sweeten the deal .

Lets remember Watts is key position forward not that easy to come by just ask Robert Walls. A former number 1 draft pick, has huge amount of upside and is improving every week. Is that to much to ask the Blues for Yarran and Tommy Bell? Am I floating on a cloud or do you guys think its fair?

How about Freo or GC? what could they offer?

Let me know what you think is fair and realistic. And who you think would be interested in Jack.

imo he is a required player, it would have to be a fantastic offer

Would do a Watts for Taylor Adams.

No to Yarran and Bell.

Yes to Sloane for Watts but Adelaide will tell us to fk off.

yarran will be offered as trade bait at the end of the season, and tom bell is a very very average football player, and really we have midfielders that would play ahead of him!

the idea of a trade is to strengthen our team, and by trading watts out i seriously doubt we will be able to get a trade that will strengthen our team.

Watts could well become one of the most adaptable players in our team not to mention is our best kick between 30-50 m when making a pass.

would not trade him, freo is the only serious option and it would be a serious midifielder who we would want to take off them!

Why would we trade him now just when he is beginning to find some confidence - he has been on the list for like 4 or 5 years. Even if we did want to trade him it would be best to wait another year (for trade value). It was only during the Brisbane game that I realised that he no longer looks like a school boy amongst men. I think he is just realising that himself (finally showing a little grunt).

Never been a watts fan (very frustrating) but I liked what I saw in the Brisbane game - just needs to get a little more of the pill and needs to study Viney. First time I saw this so called speed, agility and decision making of his.

Get a grip man!

Key position players don't grow on trees.

(you sound like an opposition recruiter fishing!)

"Key position players don't grow on trees."

But his not really a key position player - is he?

Will he ever be with Clark, Dawes, Hogan and Fitzy?

I think he will end up playing playing on the forward flank - but always be pushing up the ground - on the wing (like buddy and riewoldt except less of a key forward)

He just doesn't have enough grunt to be a key position player - he needs space and time

Unless Carlton give up Murphy or Gibbs then theres not much hope of them getting him (he is not a free agent and many clubs below the blues would take him if he enters the draft, including Melbourne.

The only possible way Watts may get there, is a combination of players/picks think Carrazo and their first round; or a 3 club trade which would probably involve one of Carltons rucks (think GWS, Geelong) - a possible suggestion would be Carlton ruck to Geelong, Geelong midfielder to Melbourne Watts to Carlton with the trading of picks to even it all up depending on players involved, NOTING in this trade Melbourne hold hand (we don't have to or likely want to trade Watts)

Can someone please tell me who MFC has traded in, who has been a star???

I wouldn't be looking to trade him at all. Players that can swing from forward to defence are becoming increasingly valuable. Just look at all the positive attention Ben Reid (24) and Lachie Henderson (23) have been getting of late. Both were drafted as key position forwards at pick 8 in their respect drafts, but played for years in defence, only to now become valuable in the forward line once again.

In the next 12 months I can see Watts become a similar yet even more versatile player. These types of players are becoming increasingly valuable, and I would argue more valuable than a mid like Yarran and Bell. Keep in mind that Henderson is being talked about as Carlton's most important player despite the presence of Judd, Murphy, Gibbs etc.

Reid, is probably in a similar position at Collingwood now that he is showing he can be a strong target in the forward line as well.

Watts is not a key position forward and we don't need him to be anymore. We just need him to be an extremely valuable swingman with skills to play all over the ground a la Brendan Goddard. That is more valuable that a Chris Yarran.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
