Your loving it how he is making you look like an absolute [censored]? wow..

Anyways back on topic, fair to say with pick 23 Vince is ours?

Nah just loving you only get credit for quoting others

Pick 23 compo for Sylvia is legit, come to the deez Vince! Maybe we could add in a late pick for Lyons also I hope.

Yeah, Vince is ours.

Michie, Vince, Tyson, pick 9, will really help Viney, Jones, and a hopefully fresh Trengove. Pretty exciting really. A new game plan, confidence in the club's direction, Hogan, a fit Clark and Dawes and we can genuinely start to gather momentum if we kick some early goals.

Well done to Mahoney, Roos, etc.

yeah i feel that our after 2nd round compo pick (which has now become pick 23, is a bit overs for Vince). Couple the pick with the one we got from GWS (54?) and get both Vince and Lyons.

nupp..another week to go

:)

OMG !!!!

Really, what an absolute w@nk.

They should be locked away, told to sit down and sort out the FA in one or two days, and the rest of the trades over the remaining 3 days of one week. As it is it is so painfully drawn out - a bit like watching Eddie ask his half dozen or so questions over half an hour (less breaks) on Who Wants To Be A Miyonair.

Not at all a long term concern, or a short one. He's fit and ready for preseason it seems. Due diligence will have been done on these guys, and they will both start with a clean slate injury wise. But, to state the obvious, anybody can get injured at any time, and I can just hear the demonland squeals next year if either goes down, albeit with unrelated injuries.

Sounds like a re-run of the Luke Molan, Nick 426Smith and Daniel Breese sagas.

Right, someone needs to get a hold of Josh Mahoney and tell him to get the following done, ASAP:

Dom Tyson and pick 9 for Sam Blease and pick 2

Bernie Vince and and Lyons for 2nd rounder (Sylvia compo pick)

Viv Michie for 3rd Rounder

Daniel Cross as delisted FA.

Draft Matt Crouch or Luke Dunstan with pick 9

If this all came to fruition we'd have a midfield consisting of N. Jones, Vince, Cross, Trengove, Viney, Tyson, Crouch/Dunstan, Toumpas, Michie in 2014.

Add in a fit Clark and Hogan to the forward 50 and it's virtually Premiership time.

Seriously though I'm not sure the Giants would go Tyson and 9 for Blease and 2 but the rest looks feasible, right?

Don't want to blow my own trumpet but my proposals have been pretty close to reality so far! No I am not Josh Mahoney but I'm very pleased with how proactive we have been. If we can land Cross then we've had a very good off-season and might surprise a few next year (/October optimism)

To have gained Tyson, Vince and Michie, and still have a top 10 draft pick, is fantastic work from this club (and the possibility still remains that we can get Cross as a DFA).

To add those to Jones, Viney, Toumpas and Trengove, and to think that Hogan slots in at FF, should give all MFC supporters enough hope to get through to Round 1 (and, I might add, to sign up as a member).

Titan (or anyone) are you able to explain; if today was the cut off date for Free Agents, how can we still get Cross? If it's not through the PSD, can we just sign him in the next week without any trade occurring and without WB getting a compo for him?

Cross is a delisted free agent. Delisted players free agency doesn't start until November 1.

I'm not that interested in Cross any more to be honest. Any game time we give him will probably be a waste. Sure Vince replaces Sylvia but we've then added Tyson and Michie who need opportunity. Cross can come as a development coach and we can sort him a contract with Casey.

Well, yeah, but we did our DD on Dawes, didn't we, and took him knowing full well he was injury prone and had calf trouble.

Tyson might be fantastic, but he played 3 games last year. Michie played 1 and none in 2012, straight out because of injury.

Just stating the facts and don't get me wrong, I'm stoked we are landing good players. I just find it interesting that, given our problems getting players on the park in the park in the past, we're picking up players who have injury histories.

emma q has some interesting thoughts on the adams-shaw deal.

personally i disagree that it's a fair direct swap. adams has far greater upside than shaw.

but the real point of interest is this:

  • boyd certainty to go no. 1
  • kelly and billings a shot for 2
  • kolodjashnij firming for top 5

and as we know mcdonald is already confirmed for #8.

she's got aish, scharenberg and freeman possibly sliding to #6 if the mooted 6 for 11 and 27 deal happens, with west coast keen on sheed at #6 but they think he'll slide to #11 if that deal happens.

Out of interest run me through Dawes' injury history at Collingwood and how it relates to his soft tissue injuries at Melbourne, which I think were caused by an increase in fitness training due to him reverting from ruck/deep forward back to his more suited role as a lead up high motor forward.

Or how Clark's freak lisfranc injury is related to some other collision injuries he had at Brisbane.

Same with Michie, his foot injuries were behind him. Plenty of AFL players have foot injuries, just this year alone with he Jamar, Evans and Trengove. We've had Garland before. They do recover if managed well.

Tyson's PCL was a one of injury as well. Of course every knee injury adds up but he's not Joel Selwood.

At the end of the day Tyson and Michie probably came cheaper because they didn't get game time due to injury but that shouldn't be a representation of their talent and I wouldn't necessarily label them injury prone.

Either way you look at it, there will be a steal at 9.

I don't think there is much between 2 and 9.

Some I speak to would take Kelly hands down at 2, some would take Aish.

Others think Taylor is the classiest kid in the draft.

Either way, it all bodes well for us at 9.... Especially with kolodjashni appearing to be really firming for top 6 after the combine.

And then there is Dom Sheed, who made most of these kids look second rate on the biggest stage of all.

Spot on, I give Chris Dawes one thing though, on or off the field - he is worth his weight in gold, that pick was well spent.

Dawes would be our best leader and he is exactly the type of bloke we need at the MFC, throw him the VC.

One way or another, every player in the AFL has injury histories.

So it looks as though the midfield is shaping up. What are people's thoughts on the forward line? We have got a wealth of talls with Clark, Dawes, Hogan and Fitz/Gawn, as well as Jumping Jeremy. So if the ball's in the air we're gunna get a hand to it.

But what about if it hits the deck, what are your thoughts on crumbers and goal sneaks?

I'm happy to have resting mids down there. Kent, Blease, Tappy and hopefully Barry might fit the bill. See what we can get late in the draft. Willi Rioli will be there in the rookie draft.

its a good point, we do lack a natural crumbing fwd, but do they offer and warrant a position. They need to do more than 7 touches and 2 shots at goal these days. Kieran Harper as an example. Brandon Matera is one that has potential to be a a very smart goal kicking small fwd.

WE dont really have one, i liked Kents smarts and nouse when he was down there at times..

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
