The Trade/Draft Rumour Mill

Good idea.

Gold Coast badly want a franchise key forward of the future, in the mould of Tom Boyd.

I'd be talking with them for sure if we had pick 1 and Swallow has gone a bit under the radar this year - seems to be a bit behind Prestia, O'Meara, Bennell and Harbrow in the midfield pecking order.

Who cares what GC want, If we get pick 1 it will be a PP pick. I'd rather hunt Pick 2 from GWS and make them give us a midfielder as well. then we have picks 2&3 to get more midfield talent.

would you ask for Taylor adams and pick 2

or dylan shiel and a later pick

it's hard to judge the currency of the GWS players.

Just want to get some opinions on Frawley movement at the end of next year. I have a gut wrenching feeling that Hawthorn might make a play for him when he is out of contract and as a restricted free agent. With Brian Lake possibly retiring at the end of this/next year a huge hole could open up where they would love a player of his caliber, not to mention that it seems Hawthorn always snare players whom they approach without any difficulty or giving up much in return (Hale, Lake, Gunston, Gibson, Burgoyne, etc)

Thoughts?

I think our biggest threat to chip will be the saints. In the next 2 seasons they will be potentially losing Hayes, Reiwoldt, Dal santo, Milne and Kosi. This will leave a massive salary cap gap and therefore they could throw a huge amount of cash and a long term contract at Chip that he just won't be able to knock back.

He goes.....he goes.

Good player who lacks the capacity to supply on field leadership.

If he's not happy, I say we trade him now, rather than letting him walk for nothing.

Definite possibility.

If we can't re-sign Frawley, we might as well close the doors.

I'd rather Shiel, but Adams and pick 2 would mean we'd bet the best 2 mid's in the draft pool assuming Boyd goes at 1. We would likely have to throw in a player to get it over the line. Seems from talk a number of clubs would like pick 1, and will inquire about it.

We must re-contract Sylvia. Surely this is a no brainer.

If Col leaves, I'd say it will be a strong indicator that Chip will follow suit, so if a good trade is put up this year I'd be willing to entertain the idea.

Just a hypothetical, if Watts doesn't want to sign how about Watts and a pick for Martin?

That's assuming Choco is coming across too and I suppose if he does Watts will likely want to stay as Choco is a known developer of young talent.

I'd ask him.

'Are you committed to the cause, son? Because we need you to become a leader on the field!'

I'd rather we put a contract in front of Chippa and tell him 'sign the dotted lines or you'll never leave this room'. We'll need Jamar and Tapscott on hand to restrain him though.

Or if Choco's on board, just get him to sit on Frawley. Choco's a big unit.

To be honest i kinda forgot we had bail.

We don't really. I think he's finished, he probably shouldn't be playing at all anymore with his concussion history.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
