Jobe took banned drug

AD doesnt deny talking with Evans that night by phone. Demitrious suggestion he couldnt have tipped off anyone is predicated upon his insistence that ASADA didnt name names ( at that point ) .

How many clubs does Vlad concede he talked to that night ? Even by his own commentary on these events he only discussed talking with Evans. Evans doesnt need to hear the words ) " Hey mate, ASADA has you by the goolies" to know that a phone call from Vlad ( or in discussions during a call TO Vlad ) that ASADA are on to them.

No one denies the panic meeting at Evans on that evening.

Its not all hearsay. Yes some is join the dots , but join then you can.

Evans and Vlad have one version , which of course they would. They cant been seen as colluding......big naughty if so.

Hird and Danny C have a different take on things. Yes there are differing motives and consequences for the various involved so you would have to think each and all are setting up their cases.

Unless Hird is auditioning for Man from La Mancha I cant understand his mega tilt at he windmill without something to go on. Thats a massive ALL -IN. Hird doesnt strike me as a total idiot. Nor does Vlad. They do have differing agendas though.

Whats in it for Danny I wonder. Hes signing his warrant also by siding with Hird. Id be interested to hear Robson and Reid's take on events.. Robson supports Evans but what else can he add to the clarification of that night.. Robson is very likely up to his eyeballs anyway. He also doesnt seem to have known which was up for some time. Reliability factor here very low.

In one sense it matters not who made the call to whom. What is of matter is that Vlad was able to relay ( cryptically if nothing else ) that Essendon were in the firing line. As far as that goes AD is skating on very very thin ice.

As an aside to this is the he says -he says spat . Why is Hird regaling from the events of THAT night. So many other things and moments youd think might worth battling over , but something about that day has lit a fuse.

We dont know what was heard or overheard that night. Obviously not everyone sees it the same way. Shakespeare would love this...lol

What also strikes me as odd , in a fashion, is youd think theyd all be towing the same line here , having got all their ducks in a row and keeping schtumm.

Brutus has a knife ready....Hirdy saw it glean.

I haven't read everything in this thread, but I'm amazed how many people here choose to believe what's written in the newspapers.

Crazy isn't it, bit like BB59 when the Boxing Day test story broke, he wanted heads to roll then as well, only an idiot would believe what was published in the paper.

I doubt if anyone here believes all they read in the papers. As several people have pointed out, you don't have to rely on what's in the press to suspect that something rotten has gone on here. Did anyone ever think it was merely a coincidence that the Essendon press conference was held just before ASADA's? If you did or still do, then the published direct quotes (which are not claimed to be out of context) would cause you to re-think without any influence by the usual beat-up reporting.

That said, I did enjoy the typical and shameless C Wilson tactic where she uses the word 'caught' in:

AFL commissioner and lifelong Bombers fan Bill Kelty was caught visiting Hird several months ago when the spotlight had turned to the Essendon coach.

The crux is how many clubs did Vlad contact on that night.

Suprised a journo has not raised it.

If Vlad only spoke to Essendrug...well....

I think this story was well known before that night

my feeling is THAT night was the start of the scrambling for chairs

yes but if Vlad spoke to all 18 Presidents that night to cover himself then he is a smart man.

If it was only Essendrug then he may also be facing a bleak future as Head of this organization.

I wouldn't call it overcommiting myself.

But as i said if Vlad only spoke to persons at Windy Pill then he has left himself wide open down the track.

Maybe I've not been following this closely enough, but I don't see that as proof of innocence. Innocent until proven etc of course, but there are lots of scenarios where someone (the spiller) spills the beans without personally initiating the contact with the spillee. (Fred Dagg where are you.) Whatever the truth, it is still a remarkable coincidence about the timing of the Essendon and ASADA press conferences.

I think a lot of the subterfuge currently being uncovered goes to the idea the AFL and Essendon dont /cant want the majority of Essendon players wiped for even 6 months.

its called PANIC !!! lol

Agree BB, I think their stance of rather than come clean, to just respond to any findings reeks of yes we've been busted but you guys only know the half of it. Coming clean early could be putting themselves in it.

It says something about our season and the last six years that 24 hours before a game

we are all talking about another team that we are not even playing.

Anyone feel like dancing on a grave?

Stuart O'Grady asked to resign or will be terminated.EFC carry on as normal. The whole saga with drugs is a clusterfcuk. As far as I'm concerned pain killers are just as insidious as every other drug banned.

Either ban them all or make them all legal cherry picking what drugs are legal is crap.A player having 25 pain killing jabs a game or an athlete blood doping. Both are drug induced outcomes.

Isn't it funny how a while ago the text messages between Hird and Dank were made public. Remarks from Hird that the players "were buzzing and up" at training after injections and commending Dank on his good work.

Yet there's an argument that the AOD9064 isn't or wasn't performance enhancing, it was just banned.

Does ASADA or WADA need any more validation about performances being enhanced?

The question at the forefront of all this is still...WHY

Why would they use this stuff? Not to lose weight, they are elite athletes .

It's to perform at a higher level quicker. That's performance enhancing is it not?

[censored] me...it's not rocket science.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie
