What he says OTC will be interesting, i am expecting something along the lines of, " i had a talk with my family and Melbourne is an option, i just have to work out if i really want to coach blah blah blah, it's obvious i have signed and want to give half of my salary to Demonfan26 blah blah blah

I think if there is an announcement it will be at our best and fairest night (Thursday).

Although I would appreciate it if Roos put us out of our misery.

You better find out his true salary then!! It could be the difference between you getting $750,000 and $1mil!!!!

It's been said before, but I think it should be announced the next day. Let's put an end to this year, and then start afresh

I agree, i'd love to hear they have called for a presser this arvo, but at the same time i think we already have a fair idea don't we?

we get to rub into Brisbane supporters how they have totally stuffed up their coaching process and we got out number 1 target which is hilarious.

Don't forget the enjoyment that can be gained from reading West Coast fans calling for the sacking of John Worsfold, and the appointment of Roos.... Too late, guys!

No his body isn't up to it, that means no. Like Rodan. See the video of Yarran running away from him whilst he goes up and down on the spot. He's mostly been a back pocket anyway.

If we want the experience mid then Cross is a much better example. If we need Adam Selwood to get Scott then we could try a deal like Geelong did where they put Troy (Adam's twin) in the VFL.

* this is where I was going with this.

If it were to help with maybe getting troy over, then I think Adam could help with half a season of games here & there as we slowly bring through our young kids.

We may however get other mature mids thru the free agency, in which case then Adam won't be much help.

it just depends on who's available to us, & if we can get some of them?

* I have no idea what Cross is like...

I think WCE will still sack Worsfold, give Scott Burns the reins in 2014 but you're right it is amusing,

who do you think coaches Brisbane?

I'd love to see either Mark Harvey or Craig get the role. I think Mark Harvey was really hard done by when Freo brought in Lyon, and think he was doing a good job.

I'm one of those who thinks, while Craig's experience is great, for me we need a clean break from the Neeld era... Rightly or wrongly, that's just how I feel. But I think he'd do well in Brisbane.

I wonder if Burns would hang around for another 2 years at West Coast if they re-sign Worsfold... Maybe they need a Collingwood style succession plan?

i am of the opinion Burns will coach WC next year, and Worsfold may be a sneaky chance at Brisbane, but i also know from a good mate who is very involved at the Lions they are pretty into Craig, so i would not be upset if that happened.

It kind of just occurred to me that if we didn't sack Neeld and the Don etc when we did we would never have been a chance to get Roos.

This is going right to the line (thank god we have had all this time to restructure the club)

Yep. Watts is a scapegoat for this list. He has talent but seems to be missing a piece in the puzzle. WIth Roos no one will question the coach. Malthouse at Carlton is the perfect example. Ratten had the blues in the same position last year and got the ass. Now the playing list is being looked over and talk of a re build is happening. How many times have we questioned Bailey/Neeld and Co? Roos gives us time, respect and a place in the toughest sporting market in the country. Our players would love the feeling that they are being thought of first. It's about winning games from here on out. Thank you PJ. We as members don't want blazers, heritage or whiteboard wednesday's. WE WANT WINS!

I think we should be thanking the AFL.

Looking back it's abit surprising they didn't do it earlier, they had a great caretaker in Craig, they clearly didn't see a future for Neeld, i suppose the only thing was having to pay him out.

Im not sure if many are up with how a lot of magicians tricks are conjured. The actual events have often taken place early. The rest is smoke and mirrors to obsfucate the audience . Sound familiar ?? Do here, make'm look there...

Roos wouldnt have said boo to us had not Tammi and co given him the green light months and months ago. This is all a show for public consumption.

Please don't spoil the magic of the moment

That does seem to fit in with the confident manner of Craig. I must say I have a lot of respect for Neil and the way he has handled himself.

Also if Neil gets another gig and resigns from the MFC, his contract of about $400k is saved.

If he does get the Lions job I wish him well.

Absolutely mate, he'd do a great job up there and he seemed very disappointed in that last presser, clearly his coaching passion has been re-ignited and unfortunately we got our man,

would be thrilled if he got the lions job.

GNF, did your source give you an indication as to when an announcement might be made?

Thank You.

All indications are that Ross will coach us. I am hearing this from player managers to board members with whom I speak. Melbourne has always been confident they would get their man Roos and this is now close to reality.

However, he has not signed yet, things can still go wrong. I remember the Lyon situation last season. Or the Mich Clark situation if you were a Freo supporter. Or the Judd situation where his manager told me after the interview with Melbourne that he was coming to the Dees only for Juddy to change his mind in the following days. As such I am still cautious, a deal is not a deal until the ink has dried.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
