MFC board meeting - 12 PM

Don't mind this - we are in charge, not the [censored] media.

The bit I don't like is the disconnect b/n Neeld (the expectations were clear and the board knows where we are) and this statement ("Our on-field performances have not met expectations this year")

They don't meet up and that really worries me... someone's not telling the whole truth here...

how can they be quoting someone who was at the meeting when supposedly the meeting is still going??

In addition, surely there would be confidentiality agreements in place regarding the discussions of those board meetings, and protocols on how information is to be presented.

If someone has leaked information to the media from the meeting, they should be removed from the club immediately.

Fark !! We will have no personnel left ... Who else do we want removed ?? ..As usual all MFC Members kept well and truly in the dark... We will be told soon.... VIA the media !!!

Aparently Neeld was in there for 90min as opposed to his usual 30min. If they were going to fire him surely they wouldn't drag it out, seems like it'd be something they'd get done quickly, unless they were using the 90min to tell him everything he's done wrong.

Couple of scenarios:

  • Neeld not the immediate FD issue, with others changes to be made while Neeld has remainder of season to prove his value. OR
  • Neeld given tonight to decide how to exit, i.e final game vs Pies, leave tomorrow, stay in caretaker role while replacement found, etc...
  • Neeld offered contract extension, he's deciding on 3 yr or 4 yr extension ;)

Can't find it on their twitter feed #936Hobart... Did you mean that he'd been sacked <via> Twitter??? If that't true then I give up. I just can't believe that we would do that...

Edited to be a bit clearer...

Yes ABC seems to know something everybody else doesn't.

Just when you think you can give the F5 key a rest!

The announcer claims the ABC received the information through Twitter !!! What a totally unreliable source... The Twitter account holder has not been named ..Could be a load of BS !!

PJ staying on is indeed positive news. The AFL will also welcome it and our rewards will come from them, as a result of it.

I'd hazard to say that is our reward from the AFL.

I'm glad, but not surprised, PJ's staying on longer term. He obviously knows this isn't a job of simply straightening the ship, first he's got to stop it from sinking!

Perhaps not a disconnect: what if we are on track with off field kpis and failing on field kpis. Neeld is of the opinion that on field will follow when off field are right, so isn't as concerned with on field kpis. The board have told him today, the onfield kpis just got a while lot more important.

Another sign of weak leadership at the MFC.

Oh well I know what I will be doing with my vote later on this year.

Aren't you happy at least. That the media was wrong again. Also that McLardy said at the presidents lunch that they will look at the FD over the next 2 weeks.

Surprise Surprise he told it as it is and no one listened.

Well that sounds like nothing was decided.

Aside from Jackson staying on.

Spot on Redleg. PJ staying for 18 months was a definite an clearly reflects the size of the task ahead.

Rest is a non decision and everyone and everything still "under assessment".

Not a positive for M Neeld or rest of FD or DMcLardy. Whilst it is good the MFC Board has not been pressured into making a decision tonight for the 6 pm news the absence of any decisions or time line means the speculation and pressure on both the Coach's and President's positions will not stop and may well increase. A poor QBday crowd will add to pressure on AFL to act if MFC Board does not.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
