Chris Connolly 2 year contract

I just wonder how many kids have us as a club of choice to support. You have to feel for the lone kid at Auskick in the MFC jumper.

My three grandchildren are all proud members, though their faith has been seriously challenged.

Having their other grandfather play for us in teams that won grand finals is still enough to gain their support. Having friends who support Geelong and other successful teams does impact on them.

I am talking about the character assassination that wyl just blurted in a previous post.

Stop looking at lines in posts in isolation - but it is plainly just mean and immature to believe that CC is anything other than another Demon who feels the same as we do.

He has made some mistakes, and so have the people that employed him.

rpfc how can you be so dismissive when these people were at the coal face. They made the decisions that were so terribly wrong.

If the AFL had not stepped in we would be dead now.

Look at the list...it is in tatters. Mentally gaga.

Froot loops would play better football.

These people systematically made bad decisions over a period of years and have walked away with bulging pockets without a word.

And you tell me that CC is a good Demon man like us???

Aern't you a little bit angry at what these fools have done?

154 years is on the brink here.....

Seems acceptable here that some of our under performing and dud players receive worse charater assasinations than those who well and truly have wrecked this club.

I give the players plenty but we all have to remember that they did not choice the MFC that was done to them by a number of our rocket scientists over more than a decade.

In my view most of them give their all.

It is not their faults that the RS's at the MFC totally misread their individual abilities.

Indeed.

I take that as conciliatory from you Rhino, and at the risk of seeming patronising, I congratulate you for it and see it as one of the club's positives for the year. Alas however, on we go with more and more of the crud. Is the for ever ongoing b.llshit , still coming, ever going to help the club progress? I doubt it. So whilst a few of our players might be spuds, they have plenty of bitter mates who simply get their jollies by being/ and seemingly enjoying being stuck knee deep in the smelly stuff. Could it be that all this assists with destabilising the place?

For some pretty intelligent people I'm surprised that many just have to keep going with this and wonder if the real agenda might be to see the club fall.

No, not related to the Sandrals, though I watched Jim play many great games for Corowa before and after his time with MFC.

My daughter married the son of a former great MFC player, thus the loyalty to the club from our grand kids.

I do feel for them though at times like this. They don't get to see many wins, which is discouraging.

He was suspended from active duty at the club for six months by the AFL.

He was moved on by the new powers at the Club. As a consequence, he was legally entitled to his contract pay out.

For a factless wasteland, your greatest strength is your inability to comprehend that.

i thought he was suspended for 12 mths not 6. It was bailey who was suspended for 6 mths

AFAIK connolleys suspension is not due to end until early next year

At the risk of being branded a wrecker of the club Docket 32

- A few! surely you jest

- I find it impossible to believe that any ramblings on Demonland have played any part in the situation the MFC is in at this point.

- Sure as hell is not my agenda.

It's hardly being dismissive.

You want them spurned for life. The caricature you have painted of CC would be laughable, if you and others weren't so serious about it.

People fark up. Trying to do what is best for the club.

Ultimately, you can do what you want. But this club is too small to not allow CC back into the fold at some point, and CS, and McLardy, and Jalland, and Gardner, and every other Demon that has been Demonised.

Because that is what good clubs are; a sprawling mess of egos and rage and blame all in the same tent wanting badly for the same ends.

OD - this is what my point is - the is so much blame and rage to be shared that we cannot afford to banish all those we wish to punish.

There will be no club left.

Players , football dept, administrative staff would never read Demonland and ask themselves what the f..k goes on between these internal waring factions?

They might not ask themselves "do we have an unity around the joint"?

They might not ask themselves "Geez the expect unity and loyalty from us and they cant get their own s.it together"?

In any case I just fail to get any "positive take out" from any of it whatsoever.

Its just a dumb thread for me, sorry.

P.S. I was generalising re the suggestion some might be wanting the club fall.

All i am asking for is a statement to the members from CC. He didn't just fark up. He farked up very badly and has walked away in silence.

All these people are welcome to buy a membership and sit in the stands with a scarf.

There almost isn't a club now rpfc.

I played for a short time in the Coreen & District League against Leon and Peter Sandral who were then at Rennie.

Jim was an outstanding centre half back for Corowa, though I did see him beaten twice in the one season by Rutherglen's centre half forward. His name was Hassa Mann, who was then about 18 or 19 and was working in the bank in Rutherglen.

Look Dockett, there were a number thoughtful posters who were prepared over a number of years to question the direction of the club. And there were enough signs for them to do it.

However, they were subjected to village witch hunt rubbish from many who played the "faceless men with hidden agendas".

From what I read they want a successful club as much if more than anyone. They just didn't believe the executive and leadership at the time were up to it and said so. Sadly their concerns were vindicated by the course of time and MFC is in quasi administration and in a mess. Many of the village witch hunters have now been some of the vocal stake burners of the past administration.

Childish and ridiculous request.

Then every player, official and coach should do the same since 1965. They have all failed.

It does not just scurrilous and pathetic slur on Connolly.

Even if there was an explanation you would be the last person to deserve it and the last person to get it (in more ways than you can work out)

Village witch hunters, or many who disagreed? That's the point of a site like this, to discuss issues. I find it AMAZING that you accuse ppl of being 'village witch hunters' when as a Mod you bullied, deleted posts, banned posters all because they disagreed with you'

Your change in tone these days is all because you we're wiped of your responsibilities for probably the same reasons I have mentioned.

I'm not interested in discussing who was right or wrong here Rhino. I'm pointing out your behaviour. Those in glass houses!!

For the record, I resigned as a Mod. Another case of you being light on the fizz with the facts.

Run off and find some witches.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
