Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Please get someone with expeience, at the very lest does not take 3 to 5 years to show a return and can win more then four games a season!

But for the supporters sake don't let anyone who pick the current Senior Coach anywhere near the selection panel! Better still lets get an independent selection panel to assist, someone we can sue to fund any early payout if they get it wrong!

My final request is don't get anyone from COLLINGWOOD! We have not got that desperate yet or have we?

Alistair Clarksons contract is up at the end of the year. Wouldn't be surprised if we made a play for him. Apologies if this has already been mentioned I skipped to the last page

Ive heard the current Ocean Grove coach is pretty good, apparently he one day aspires to be an AFL assistant coach.

Whys that AF?

I prefer Clarkson's game style to Roos, but also believe it's more suited to our list and he is still coaching, rather than in the media. Of course, I'd take either in a heart beat, but dreamworld, I'd probably take Clarkson. I've got a mate who works on the Hawthorn bench and he says Clarko is a hard [censored]. It doesn't take being down on the bench to see that either really. But the important thing is, he has the respect of the players on his list and he is an innovative coach. Truthfully, I think it's their dearth of A grade defenders that has cost them. Lake is their only true key position sized defender. Yes, it's up to Clarkson to get that right come draft time, but it's tough to go out and get an A grade defender, when you're paying the likes of Buddy massive amounts.

What I really like about Clarkson's style is his balance of defence versus attack. No one could ever accuse the Hawks of being a boring side to watch. Obviously, they have a lot of players with flair (Buddy, Cyril, Burgoyne etc), but he has them playing disciplined, yet attacking footy. Although their list (to an extent) is hamstrung by this lack of back half talent, his game style manages to hold up in finals series' and has got them over the line once on the ultimate day.

If Hawthorn fail to win the flag this year, he might decide he's up for a new challenge. Either way, we have to ensure the offer is too good to refuse.

You raise good points AF.

At the end of the day I just want someone in there who will lead our team out of the thunder box its finds itself in and whether that's Roos, Clarko or Choco I will be happy with either.

Roos was innovative but rocket built that list.

Lyon was the real brains of the Sydney operation.

Would definitely take Clarkson ahead of Roos, a far more innovative coach.

Neeld being sacked is a given, I would rather we keep him until his replacement is ready to go. I think it's fair to say any care-taker coach would not be considered for the top job. For all the things he has got wrong he got a few things right. Bailey-Viney-Neeld-care taker- Choco? in a two year period is getting out of control. Interesting to see how it all plays out.

I wonder how many more topics and how many more topic titles can posters come up with re the same thing, this is boring!!!!!!!!!

So the better option would be to not read it rather then wasting everyone's time with a pointless comment?

I wouldn't mind if he ruined MFC if it meant winning a flag before he did so

Exactly. Choco has coached 1 club for 1 flag, won a number of minor premierships in an era where the greatest team of all time existed. How were the lions travelling when Mathews left? Geelongs ability to make the hard call on their players has paid off.

I want Neeld sacked, i'm sure most are aware of that by now but the only thing i can give him is that we haven't even seen close to what our best 22 are like, our dangerous forward structure has not played a game at any level together, later in the year should be a good indication provided we don't have more injuries

I really hope that the team can put in the next 3 weeks, and I guess this will show if Mark is really the man for the job or not.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
