An interesting stat

there was also an article that said we are in the top 3 or so for scoring a goal when the ball enters the fwd 50! Pity we don't get it down there enough to make the most of it.

It's about time Garland started to get ahead, he has been in the system for a very long time. I will believe when he becomes more consistent. One constant theme on this site irritates me, many here continue to excuse our back line for the lack of pressure from our midfield, the back line is made up of some of our most senior players. I expect much more of Frawley and Garland. And don't keep saying our players would be better in a top team, it's a [censored] throw away line.

Where did I say he would be a better player in a good team?

Do tell....

Yeah, we were leading the competition before last week. Adds further credence to the fact that if we improve our midfield, we start to look dangerous with increased forward fifty entrances.

Also saw on the website we are the number one side for contested marks. That has to be a positive?

I reckon this one's misleading as we are continually kicking to packs.

Really? 80 odd games is NOT a very long time. Nick Maxwell: 180 games (alongside Harry O'Brien with 160+). Corey Enright 250 games. Those are senior defenders with a bit of experience, Garland hasn't even played 100 games yet.

yeah, if we're able to get a good midfielder in this free agency, and add Hogan into the fwd line, look out! it will take a bit more than that of course for us to become a top team but it would put us in a good position to make our move up the ladder :)

Sure, but easier said than done!

yeah i know. i don't see any reason atm why any big player would want to come to our club unless we hurl a big pricey contract at them. we definitely have talent but not showing anything to entice them across apart from that.

Goodness me!

The players are actually improving under the current coaching regime?

Hold on to your seats boys and girls. Things might be looking up after all.

I think it's actually a good point about the rest of our midfield... It can't only be Jones winning a large amount of clearances, he needs support and has none. If our midfield was three Jones' we'd be doing pretty well.

Garlands has had a good start and his last couple of weeks have been especially good. The stats stating his kicking prowess are rubbish though. Although Kennedy beat him, bad match up by our laughable coach, he has shown great intensity in the back line. It shows how meaningless stats are sometimes as his defensive work has been good whilst his generally kicking appears okay. He merely just hits up targets I expect him to hit. Hasn't created outrageous options yet he's the third best kick according to the stats in the league. Stats lie occasionally but he has been very good this year

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
