i wanna know the full story, a s paid up member i deserve to know as do all other members

This cloub is on the verge of extinction and 2 of our highest paid players are ina dust up at nightclub

Right now it sounds like Sylvia was to blame, but i dont wanna hang him until i know the whole picture

You don't deserve that, it is none of your business. So what a player gets drunk, big deal as long as he meets all his rehab and training commitments today and this week no issue.

It's crap like this that shows how weak we are as a club.

Colin Sylvia has been involved in countless incidents where he mucked up under the influence. Geelong gave Stevie J. latitude early. When they finally did get their act together in 2007, they spoke softly and wielded a big stick. 5 weeks ban from the club. What resulted was a Norm Smith medallist and one of the better footballers of this decade.
What do we do when Col does stupid crap like this repeatedly? We give him a week off during the preseason.

I won't say he was exclusively to blame in this as Chip was involved too but he is a repeat offender.

Wow is all I can say every team has players that have the old disagreement but of course with the predicament we are in it gets reported and will now the being the rumour mill. Sylvia has had that many issues with alcohol and still never learns. I say bugger it we won't make finals make a stand and tear up his contract I am a fan of Sylvia but I am over every single year him having a dust up or issue that stems from him being intoxicated.

No being a member does not entitle you to that, it entitles you to a vote in club elections and entry to AGM's but it doesn't entitle you to the full story.

As for the club being on the verge of extinction, there's nothing like an over exaggeration to support a crap proposition.

If its true...rest my case!

Sylvia has no interest in the team,,,, just himslef!

Would they not have re-hab the next morning?

Imagine turning up still on the turps!

No issue with players going out for drink or 2....but at some stage proffesionalism has to take over!

I can hopefull prey that Frawley was not drunk as I would lose all faith

Getting drunk the night after a game is specifically against all rehab and training commitments. I'm astonished anyone doesn't know this - it basically knocks your whole recovery process back by 48 hours, increases your risks of wear-and-tear injuries, and in particular undermines recovery from soft-tissue soreness and injury.

If a player can't keep off the [censored] for even a couple of days before and after a game, they are simply not committed to AFL level performance.

Haha I'm sure they have a cup of tea, some cream cheese on a cracker, and in bed by 9....

Give me a break.

That sounds like your mums routine for you.

Obviously Sylvia is not a professional - not worth what he is being paid - probably explains why at 27, he hasn't achieved anythin in his entire career. Maybe in the eighties it was ok but they weren't professionals back then. Should be delisted immediately.

Stuie, we are struggling to win a quarter, let alone a game.

You'll excuse us if we aren't jumping for joy that a repeat offender, a perennial under performer, and an all round known idiot, has been seen [censored] out of his mind after a match*

Should we sack him? No.

Should we punish him? Yes.

Would our club be annoyed at this? Yes

Should you? Probably, but too busy searching for gifs online I suppose.

*still no confirmation, so lets hope it is not true or has been blown out of proportion on the internet

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
