Help Demonland: Subscriptions and Donations Needed

Demonland

Recommended Posts

The time of the year has come for me to pay some of the costs associated with running the site. I also want to throw some of that money to Nasher who looks after the hosting and maintaining the back end of things.

If you love using Demonland to talk about the Dees with fellow tragics then the best way for you to help is to take out a Demonland.com membership/subscription. You can either take out a one off annual membership which entitles you to a year of Demonland minus the annoying advertising on the site. You also get access to the mobile skin for viewing the site nicely on your smartphone. Or you can contribute a little bit more and take out a Lifetime membership which offers you the same as the annual membership but for life.

The costs of these packages will be going up on April 1st 2013 (no April Fools joke) so get in quick to take advantage of 2012 prices.

If you have already taken out a Demonland subscription and want to continue to help contribute to keeping this site running then you can always donate to us here - http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/donate/

The current costs for a Demonland.com membership is as follows:

Annual Demonland.com membership is $20 per year. (1 year subscription of Demonland.com without advertisements. Also includes access to the Mobile Skin for viewing on Smartphones)

Lifetime Demonland.com membership is $50 for life. (Lifetime subscription to Demonland.com without advertisements. Also includes access to the Mobile Skin for viewing on Smartphones)

On the 1st of April 2013 the costs for a Demonland.com membership will be:

Annual Demonland.com membership is $25 per year. (1 year subscription of Demonland.com without advertisements. Also includes access to the Mobile Skin for Smartphones)

Lifetime Demonland.com membership is $60 for life. (Lifetime subscription to Demonland.com without advertisements. Also includes access to the Mobile Skin for Smartphones)

You can subscribed by clicking the Subscription tab under the main Demonland logo at the top of the page next to the Home tab and follow the prompts through to PayPal.

Or simply click this link - http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/subscriptions/

The mobile skin looks like this on your smartphone:

mobileskin02.jpg

mobileskin03.jpg

It's easier to read on a smartphone than the full site so if you do the majority of your reading of Demonland on your phone then the mobile skin is great. The software does of course recognise the device you are using so if you have a subscription but are viewing on your PC or iPad then it will display the full site. If you are viewing on your iPhone then it will display the mobile skin. If you are viewing the mobile skin on your phone and you want to view the full site there is a convenient button at the bottom and top of the page that allows you to switch back to the full site.

Also, in addition to access to the mobile skin the subscriptions remove the advertising on the site to give you a better viewing experience of the site.

Here is a screenshot of the site with ads:

All proceeds from subscriptions go towards paying for the site costs and periodically if there is anything left in the kitty I throw some of it Nasher's way for the amazing job he does in keeping the site's backend running smoothly or I will donate it back to the club.

So if you want to help us out then there is a way to do so as well as getting something back in return.

Cheers and Go Dees in 2013.

Andy

If anyone else would prefer to direct deposit then please PM me and I will send you through the details. I can manually change your account status to Annual or life member once the funds clear.

Will do. Actually really disappointed with the response so far. I don't like coming cap in hand and asking fro contributions but I feel that we do a lot to keep this site running not just in dollar terms but in precious time and effort. Both Nasher, Whispering and I have families and jobs and the mods do a great service in cleaning up around here and to have such a lackluster response is quite disheartening and makes me question why I even bother at times.

Come on you tight freaks.

Loosen up the wallet.

Only $60 gets you the chance to read some of the most inane drivel ever penned by man.

As well as some very funny, informative, interesting, sad and at times inspiring content as well.

I would expect the big ranters on here to pay for their pulpit.

And the readers who never post likewise.

Cheaper than a month of Foxtel .

If you can't do that , pay the $15 or donate $10.

FFS-nothing is free anymore .

What are you all-New Zealanders?

Spot on Biff but, more importantly, D'land provides an opportunity to write "inane drivel". I'm so happy I donated twice.

If anyone else is experiencing difficulties getting the mobile skin you may need to clear the mobile browsers cache. Not sure how to do this on non-iPhones but it should be in the phone's settings or phone's browser settings.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
