Craig Cameron set to quit

Craig was great for us and great for the club in terms of his relationship with supporters. That definitely went backwards when Barry Prendergast came in and soon after the Demonland/Demonology sponsorship died.

Good luck in your new career, CAC!

And IMO our recruiting went completely backwards when BP came in to the MFC.

I know he didn't have a lot to work with, and may have been over-ruled at times, but I don't really think CAC's recruitment was much better.

We were where we were in 2007 because of a sustained period of poor recruiting and development.

On excellent information Chris Connolly is a top bloke too.

Correct. I know he is a mate and yes I stick up for mates, but every thing he has done at Melbourne has been for the club. He improved our footy department, he has chased sponsorship and membership for us, he helped get the foundation off and running and still seeks new members, he is helping develop Casey, he works after business hours giving tours of the new facilities, etc, etc, etc he bleeds for the club.

I am sick to death of some of the snide comments from some on here who want to throw him under the bus. We are all in the trenches together and I hope to God we stick together.

This is not directed at you Fifty-5 it was just an opportune time to post it in reply to your post.

I agree in he was great in coming on and giving us the insight but lets be realistic, when we think of that superdraft we think of that selection. Whether it was danihers choice or not CAC still cops the flak for it and always will.

Does that seem fair to you? If he was totally against Molan but was ordered to take him, do you think it is fair that he is blamed for it?

Of course not, but to me that's purely speculation.

I've not seen nor heard any evidence.

You may not have but others have.

Well I'd be interested to hear it.

Still, I was never enthralled with many of our recruits from his era.

Depends on how much autonomy he had. Maybe Daniher should wear the blame for a lot of it.

Absolutely redleg.

I want our club to be known as looking out for its own, & cleaning up its own mess.

Not bowing & scrapiing & being oportunistic, to help some disreputable cause of killing 2 birds with one slingshot stone.

I think Neale Daniher did very well seeing we were broke for most of his time at the club.

He tried his absolute hardest but thats just my view.

Absolutely, but cause and affect applies here - we were flag from 2000 to 2006 and in 2007 we had an old list that was falling apart at the seams.

Clear the pros out and we were left with very little.

Didnt your "sauce" tell you that CS and CC were going to be sacked? Just how reliable is your "sauce"; not very by the look of it they seem to swing in the wind.

lol

You said that a few weeks ago - that we (I assume you mean 'we') were not in too much trouble.

And then you sepnt the last few days harrassing people by alluding to harsh penalties because of the Zulus comment.

So how many 'sauces' have you had?

Well we dont know the truth do we.. but im saying if it was danihers decisions then CAC is still copping the flack for it and has built the reputaion for it. i agree he doesn't deserve it if it was danihers choice but sadly he is the one copping it when the topic is brought up about the famous super draft year.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
