I want Jobe Watson to be every club's number 1 target for the lols.

Thinking particularly of our midfield needs ...

Ignoring the ridiculous like club captains Hodge, Watson and Van Berlo

The highly improbable like Mitchell, Thomas, Corey and Wells

The most interesting players in that list are Colin Sylvia, daylight second, Xavier Ellis

There's a few names there I'd love to see us make a play for. There's a few A-grade small forwards there (LeCras, Betts, Milne), which a position we need to fill.

Why? what you don't like Blease, Kent, Davey, Byrnes, Magner..Jetta in a pinch

Milne is 33 this year isn't he, Le Cras has had a very serious injury, if Betts leaves Carlton I would be very surprised

I can't imagine any more than 5 of those players going anywhere, most will be resigned by the end of the year.

I'd like to see Blease play further up the ground, perhaps on the wing or as a half forward. I don't know much about Kent; I live out of the country so haven't seen him training. Davey and Byrnes won't be around when we're (hopefully) challenging. Magner is not a forward pocket; he played there a couple of times last year, with, IMO, no success. Jetta is better utilized as a small defender.

If he can get through this season, I would be more than happy to see the Dees take a punt at LeCras. I'd be surprised if he left West Coast, just as I'd be surprised in Betts left Carlton, but I'd be happy to have either in red and blue. I didn't realize Milne's age.

Anyway...just trying to generate some discussion; I'm getting tired of visiting the "Tanking" thread.

Magner had his first pre season last year and a shortened one, he has increased his endurance and looks faster, would not surprise me to see Neeld using him up forward

As for Le Cras it seems strangely quiet, maybe one of the Dees in the west can post what he is up to, been nearly a year since he did his knee, doesn't get a namecheck on any of the latest stories on their website....strange

Agree with Blease but that will be in a year or two, needs at least another pre season

Jetta is very versatile, will show this year, can play there if need be

Kent by the way from what I have seen is as fast as Blease, just starting out though, but has a fair rig on him as well, under the radar at the moment

Barry might get a go up there as well

Le Cras would be an awesome get for us, could see him playing quite alot through the middle of the ground for us!

17 clubs will see Sylvia as the perfect target

Theres not a club in the AFL that would pay Sylvia 400,000 a season, if he leaves he takes a pay cut.

Neeld and Brown will definitely put an offer to Dale Thomas, we would be crazy not to. Nathan Van Berlo will probably not leave Adelaide but we should offer him big money and see what happens. Xavier Ellis may be worth a look but the rest are either fanciful or not what we require I think. The other one worth making an offer on might be Adam Selwood.

What about the lure of a Premiership and/or being the 6th string midfielder in a top team? Imagine him at the Pies

What if he has a good season in 2013?

Simon black and lenny hayes. Two players we should go for. yes I know they are late in there career but im hoping we pick up another gun midfieder in the draft with our first pick. Could you imagine the experience and much needed improvement if we had one of this guys showing toumpas, viney, kent, taggert how its done.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
