What questions are you going to ask at the AGM?

This topic has still got legs

AGM

MFC is a footy club

The players are having a good pre season

The coach has a plan

We made a profit last year

2013 is a new season

What is left to ask, notice the questions that are going to be asked have dried up, as they do at the AGM, no keyboard to hide behind

And as far as I can recollect been to the microphone 3 times myself in the last couple of years, not to raise a question but to thank the Club

Thats the crux of the matter!

The question i would ask is why was CS appointed for another 3yrs when the clubs under serious investigation, maybe a 12 month contract would seem more reasonable.

Because he does a very good job now that he is not a part of the FD....

Can we get off the CS debate.....Our club is being run well...

We are debt free whereas the top clubs are still in debt

Carlton......$5 mil in debt

Coll...........$3 mil in debt

Western bulldogs...........4 to $5 mil in debt

Don't get me started on the interstate clubs like Pt Adel....Suns....Giants....Bris

We now have a properly funded FD

We posted a profit in the year from hell

But we need a CEO who runs things properly????.....

People might not like him personally....But who cares....He is doing his job...

I agree with what you say, hes a tremendous bean counter, but as for the club running smoothly you obviously live on Mars or have a brain impairment.

In the past year...the club couldn't have run better internally........It's the external muck that is the problem....Are you part of that??

The CEO's job is to have the beans to count and manage....A Task he has done very well....You even say that yourself....

Yeah you're right, CS obviously killed Jimmy, attacked Jurrah's cousin, signed Energy Watch because of their CEO's racist views, told porky pies about Davey and Neeld, and to top it all off fed Brock McLean a slab of VB before going on tele.... FFS.

  • CS was part of the team who persuaded a highly respected European Car Maker who wanted a presence in Austrlalia to use MFC as one of its vehicles pun intended......how many of the keyboard heroes on here could do the same........I have come out from behind Satyricon a couple of times when posters have p***** me off...if u are going to criticise a bloody good CEO let's hear about your achievements....me, not interested in promotion or a high position, the politics take over....so no idea what it takes to be a CEO and don't want to CS for me is doing a great job

Simple Simon could see the clubs not running smoothly, the question i pose to you is, are you Simon. FFS.

Gotcha. Well both those things are dealt with from an MFC point of view now I guess, so the only thing I see challenging our income would be the effect the tanking affair has on both sponsorship and legal costs, and of course our commercially difficult draw. IMO we are better placed this year financially (barring unforseen mishaps), depending on onfield results. Would think it's a bit harsh to say we employ "morons" seeing as though those 2 issues were pretty extraordinary and not the fault of the MFC directly, and especially seeing how quickly we were able to get new sponsors on board.

Cam has handled our sh!tstorms pretty damn well-on which we agree!

Due to the nature of marketing, we are a very worthy club to sponsor.

We are a walking headline .We even have a daily column in The Age.

I think we have a more organised outfit this year.

But it takes an extra simple person to think that any of the crazy things that happened last year were the fault of CS.

Not too good at making any of your points sound reasonable buddy.

There's a circle of trust.

We need to explain it diagramaticly to some .

What about whats happening now, you know the good news in the papers everyday, the glowing endorsements from the Age and Sun, you would have to be a twit to think this clubs running smoothly, were the laughing stock of Victoria, and the buck stops with the CEO who im tipping wont have a job in 3 months time.

Laughing stock?....gee you take the footy seriously don't you......you must be very thin skinned.....

The club is running smoothly, memberships out on time, website updated with new stories each day, sponsors locked and loaded for 2013, only 3 still on restricted training, AGM and Family Day organised......................beat ups in the newspapers everyday, got a Bookmaker to make a comment today in the AGE, now there is a person with no vested interests

I think there are supporters from at least another 5 clubs hoping that we don't take the lid of the can of worms that is 'tanking' completely

As I said you must be very thin skinned......I don't really care what other supporters/people think, only what I do, but you are entitled to not announce publicly that you are an MFC supporter, my desk in work is covered in Red and Blue but nobody says anything coz they know I don't care...

edited because my spellin and grammor seem to be getting wurs

Mate, this is crazy talk. What is happening in the papers at the moment has absolutely nothing to do with how smoothly or otherwise the club is currently running. It is the outcome of events which happened years ago.

In fact, to counter your argument, I'd say the way this has been handled by the club shows that it is running incredibly smoothly, compared to previous times.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
