Brett Anderson's Inside Football Mock Draft has us taking this player:-

Suits me.

Suits me too 'Jack',but I doubt it will happen couldn't see him getting past Collingwood if he slips down. I still think he is the best option for GWS but everyone is saying Kelly.

Could be a very interesting draft night for us. Some saying Freeman is a lock, others saying Scharenberg could slip to 9 and maybe even Salem.

I was listening to Finney on SEN on my way home and he did a phantom draft with two (expert) guests (didn't catch their names). They had us taking Salem at 9. Whilst I have heard his name and read up on him in other phantom drafts, I have not heard his name too much on here. His draft combine results seem good, does any one have any info on him?

I think Brett Anderson was on Finey's show tonight, he and Ash Browne from AFL.com tend to do the draft talk on Evenings w/ Finey every year.

I'm feeling that Salem might just be ahead of Freeman now for us, but if Scharenberg slips down, I'd be stunned if we didn't go with him. Still feel the Pies will take him at 6, leaving us to select Salem or Freeman. Salem probably edges Freeman on all round footballing ability. Does everything well (kicks better than most others in this draft), and can step up in big moments during games, loves to tackle. Freeman's pace is tearaway and a real point of difference. I'm comfortable that we'll get a very good player at 9, whichever way we go.

Find it interesting that, after a fair amount of agreement among phantom drafts about the top 10 or 12 (with us getting Freeman), in the past week things have really diversified.

Another update by Paige, and I have a feeling she's very close to the mark on the top 12 or so.

http://www.scpaige.com.au/phantom-draft-november-edition/

Changes have Scharenberg at 6, Freeman to Brisbane and Salem as our choice at 9.

I don't rate this "Supercoach Paige" at all.

She just pinches notes from Jay Clark and Landsberger at the HeraldSun, both of them fair hacks as it is.

The superlatives these wannabes use are ridiculous.

Every player has exceptional this and mountains of that.

It's ridiculous. Not a bad word said about any of them.

I like Quigley's phantom drafts because he doesn't mind having unpopular or strange views on players, but I think he's way off here.

Crouch, Sheed and Dunstan (to MFC) in the top 10??

I'd be surprised if 1 of them was.

He has interesting and detailed views, but if my memory serves me correctly, he rated Josh Greene as being top 4 in his draft.

Everyone has some misses, Quigley is brave but probably has more than most.

Some write ups get close to the AFL guys stuff as well.

Yep, he's definitely his own man and not particularly concerned about being accurate in terms of predicting the final outcome. I have no doubt that his phantom draft will be further off the mark than many others. It's the content that makes him interesting even if you disagree with him.

9/ Nathan Freeman... the running bull

40/ Jay Kennedy-Harris... small fwd

57/ Jake Kolidhashnji... tall defender

His point isn't to predict the order, it's pick the best players. Clubs get it wrong all the time - Fiora, Fyfe. Only time will tell.

Quigley is Emma Quigley a woman not a man

No the Quigley referred to is a Big Footy poster who does a yearly mock draft.

Definitely not Emma Quigley whose mock draft will be much closer to the actual order than the Big Footy one will be.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
