Even in this announcement she takes time to have another crack at the MFC???? Being investigated for forfeiting games? She is sailing pretty close to the wind here and will pay a decent price if/when we are found to have no case to answer.

Like a dog with a bone.

Forfeiting means to surrender.

In which game is she alleging that we did that?

Sydney Swans @ Manuka where we have never beaten them and came closer to beating them than in the previous two matches and only poor kicking for goal lost it for us?

Richmond where it took a goal after the siren from 50 metres to beat us?

St. Kilda (19-2) v us (4-17) with them paying $1.02 the win in a game we lost by 47 points?

If these were forfeits in her mind then she really has forfeited her sanity.

One look at her and one can see that she is just a bitter, miserable person with a huge chip on her shoulder who likes to stir up trouble just for the sake of it.

Pity it wasn't she who resigned.

She's determined to sustain her view that we "pathetic and disgusting". The word "tanking" has become a joke - so she's trying to coin

a phrase that sounds "incriminating" - hence the term "deliberately forfeit" As you point out, that insinuation flies in the face of the facts ......... and highlights just how absurd the whole thing is!!

Anderson called for this ridiculous investigation while Demetriou was away. Perhaps this demonstrated to "the powers that be " that Anderson hasn't got the judgment necessary to climb further up the AFL management ladder. Wishful thinking perhaps - but the timing is interesting. Let's face it, he's just dug the AFL into one heck of a hole

Surely her use of the term "deliberately forfeiting" is slanderous. It's far more pointed than 'tanking'.

Any legal types in the house who might comment on this?

What the hell is garry lyon doing, why has he not pulled caro up if i was him i would, am sure he has more power at 9 then caro, if he loves the club, who made him

Vincehotboy look at the later part of the 2009 season objectively, we went out of our way not to win.

Leave your MFC blindness aside.

Others did it during that period and it could be said that the league rules encourage it.

However 90% of the Football community ( including me ) believes we tanked.

Don't be blinded by your passion for the Dees.

Perhaps Gary believes it too!

I don't have much time for Anderson, but to him it probably looked like he was being sent a message: "you're not allowed to make decisions on your own, sonny".

He would have felt undermined from above.

Goodbye Adrian. May your successor not make it up as he goes along.

Not a legal type, but I am confident the club will have filed that one away in the memory bank. It's a big statement.

It could come back to bite her big time.

Two wrongs don't make a right

A little advise from an old geeza

You wiil never win a discussion by calling names.

Put up an arguement with substance to support it.

That way people will take you seriously.

Even if they don't agree

Why would she use the term Forfeiting.

While one posters says i "means to surrender."

In my footy world when you forfeit, it means you couldn't get a team together and the other side wins by default.

In WA amateurs, you get a 100pt and the forfeiting team gets 1 for percentage purposes.

We never forfeited as we fielded teams in all those games.

Thats a true supporter.

I think we tanked- should I stop supporting my dees too Vincey?

I think so yes SMF

You are now branded as not a "true supporter"

Welcome to the club.

Perhaps we could start a splinter group called "The Not so True Dees"

We could negotiate a reduced membership fee, say only pay 90% of normal.

The main requirement would be to have a sense of humour!

The Not so True Dees. Has a ring to it. At last, a place where us dee fans can go to openly revel in our disgusting onfield performances and worship our bronzed statue of Jordan McMahon.

I think we border-line tanked so I gotta leave games at half-time.

We will give you an apprenticeship nutbean

If you promise to not mention Caro once in the next month we will give you full membership.

Becoming a "Not so True Dee" is not something that is handed out on a whim

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
