Just learned Dawes is only 24. Thought he was about 28! Might be a good pick up after all. How about Cook, Gysberts and Morton to Maggies as a trade. Would rather keep Martin if possible even though 2012 wasn't a good year for him.

Dawes would be a good get - big bodied key forward, has 6-8 years left. His form suffered from doing the Ruckwork which he wouldn't have to do with us. Still think he might stay at Collingwood but getting him would finally be some good news

I reckon the Pieswould would say NO

You can keep Cook and morton

Yep but if I were virtually promise a flag and good money, I would certainly look at completing the degree in Sydney or even deferring it.

If Dawes went to Sydney; that would be would cause nightmares for Clarkson, Buckley et al

So you're disregarding what he wants ?

He wants to stay in Melbourne and there will be enough suitors to make it happen.

Lol, three NQR's don't equal a decent player. Especially when they are trying to create cap space - it will be picks not players for Dawes!

well we have to come up with some trade bait without going backwards. Martin is a big strapping lad and can play a a versatile role. granted he had a poor year but I think he can come back hard next year.

trying to create good scenarios for melbourne not bad ones. you are right though. doubt if collingwood would be interested.

In that case that particular one is far too good for us to be true, with the exception of maybe Gysberts.

won't happen cos Wellers is heading west

What number draft pick(s) do Sydney have to trade ?

Look out for Wellingham and Dawes to be packaged up and traded to Melb for pick 4

interesting...more as the source..than possibly the trade

Barich has a good ear for footy happenings

This would be a great outcome if Viney slips to 2nd round.

End up with Toumpas, Wellingham, Viney and Garlett/Kennedy/Stringer as mids and Dawes up forward. Good outcome.

If Viney goes at pick #3 on the otherhand...not quite as impressive.

If Wellingham and Dawes came over, both young, don't mind indeed! Winning culture into the club and both still have a lot to offer. Early days...not getting too excited yet.

i'm liking the sound of melbourne getting both wellingham and Dawes in a package deal! just on trade radio, wellingham dawes and pies 1st rnd pick (22 or whatever it is) for pick 4!

If Viney goes at pick #3 on the otherhand...not quite as impressive but still ok. Might be able to trade a pick 26 for Colls 18 and go for something like

Viney, Wellingham and 2 of Kennedy/Simpsons/Stringer/Garlett/Vlastuin as mids and Dawes up forward.

Slightly better, but pick 4 is a massive asset to put up.

Dawes/Wellingham and pick #18 I would take that trade

yes it is but provided we don't have to use pick 3 on viney we will still have 3, 13, 22, viney(26), wellingham, dawes and anyone else we pick up. sounds pretty good to me if this happens :)

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

Haven’t laid eyes on Fritsch or AMW yet. Fritsch sighted. One unknown mature standing with Goody. Noticing Nathan Bassett much m
