Martin & Pick 58 to Brisbane

Pick 33 to St Kilda

Ray to Melbourne

Pick 58 that we got off the filth is now pick 63.

I have a feeling that F Ray is now off the radar.

I get that sinking feeling also.

Don't worry fellas.

There are a million like him around .

I can run away from a contest and wave my hands around as well.

I'm really releaved if he doesn't make his third club ours.

He has been moved around for a good reason.

It's happening, and it was reported this morning on trade winds on AFLs web page .

Melbourne wanting to wrap up their trades with the acquisition of Pederson and Ray on Monday.

Draft picks and Stefan Martin to be used in the trades.

Just heard on the wires that Ray has officially asked for a trade from the saints who are somewhat reluctant given the perception of where their list is at. From a saints supporter.

I Still think we are in with a chance with Ray, just depends how serious they are in taking any of our player as compensation for the loss, stef would seem to me to be the only one they would consider. So we may see a deal in the next couple of days.

Martin and the Lions have been linked, a pick in return maybe used for one of Ray, Pederson.

Figured this post which I had on another board belonged here. Let's hope we get this across the line before the week is outEagles, Saints won't budge.

This is the part of the article worth noting:

"The Saints are likely to be involved in at least another trade before Friday's deadline, with Farren Ray likely to be traded to Melbourne.

The Demons are also likely to secure North Melbourne's Cameron Pedersen. North was eager to obtain a better draft pick for Pedersen than Melbourne had offered - the pick 49 the Demons had received for Jared Rivers - as part of the exchange."

Come on Dees, make it happen!

Recycled players will equal: Byrnes, Dawes, Pedersen & Ray.

Then just sign one of either Jordan Russell or Steven Salopek from November 1-13 and we've got the squad I was after from this trade/free agency period!

Channel Seven Six O Clock News said and I quote 'Farren Ray has been linked to Melbourne'. I don't know what that means. Does it mean we have done a deal? Maybe Whispering Jack or Nudge know. If anybody can shed light on this then please post.

Calm down...

We are obviously trying to get Pedersen and Ray.

Apart from that - nothing else is known because there is nothing to know; the deals have not been done.

I'm not sure about that. My experience of Channel 7 is that they are normally well behind the 8 ball and that if they are mentioning something then it is usually already a done deal!

North got pick 39 for Hamish McIntosh. He's played far more games and is a better player than Pederson, yet they say they want better than pick 49. Seems a bit of a double standard going on there.

What the media report has been wrong all trade period, apart from pick 20 for Dawes.

I doubt we would give up pick 49 for this reason.

Posted

It is sounding like we have decided we won't be in the draft after JV at 27, unless we use a late pick as a speccy. For that reason we seem to be happy to trade any pick after 27 for players we want.

Sorry, but I haven't got the foggiest idea as to what's happening and I doubt that many other than those who are in our recruiting department would know.

Still, I find it an intriguing exercise to read all of the rumours.

3½ days to go.

Macintosh is also 28 and struggled with injuries the last few years (knees and achilles?) so may be speculative whether he will actually be able to contribute much to the Cats.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
