I do not deny that Ray and Dawes will fill holes in our list. However, you don't turn around an average list by bringing in more average players. I see no point in hunting for solid C-graders. We need to bring in the B and A grade players to make a real difference to our team.

But not all of the players we bring in can be B and A graders.

Josh Kennedy, Ted Richards, Martin Mattner, Ben McGlynn etc were considered solid C-graders once...

Dawes, Byrnes, Ray are designed to come in and have an immediate impact, which will create competition for spots.

As long as we get them for a good price, I see no problems with these acquisitions.

Why are we getting linked with all these ridiculous trades. Again, I would be shocked if we had any intention of offering up pick 20 for Ray, and would actually be shocked if St Kilda even had the nerve to ask for it. i reckon he's worth the pick. with a 3rd or 4th rounder the pickings will be rather slim, so i think we might as well pick up some more experience that is ready to play

I think you can safely say we are no longer in the hunt for Ray, we simply don't have any draft picks worth trading.
