Interview Malthouse now. Get him to pick the new players we must get from trade and draft. Get rid of Neeld. Beat Carlton to the punch.

No, he could just go into the PSD or rookie draft where no club other than Adelaide or Port would touch him with a 60ft. pole

The contracts thread shows that he is out of contract this year. Therefore we are unlikely to get anything for him.

Good riddance. He was a show pony like robbo. Selfish player.

Townsville......much nicer place

I reckon I could convince your Mother to go up for the match if we did play there, or at least drop her off at Port douglas and drive down for the game.

Sean Charles Mk II...........will never recover from his wrist injury, and no matter where he plays, he will not be the same as he was for us.

Well he Aboriginal if that's what you mean. My impression is he is well over the wrist injury. He may not be the same. He will be better.

a reminder...there are NO rookies in 2013 !!

Here's the truth of the matter.

Ive always been saying that Jurrah was not in our future plans and this isnt just because (and ive said it over and over despite being criticised) he will soon be in jail, but because he doesnt work hard enough and relies purely on talent rather than work-rate. He - like Wonnamerri - were exciting talents, but both are fails.

I saw Wonna up at Darwin airport way back in 2005 or 2006 and he said to a bloke with me that he 'didnt want to go back to Melbourne, hated the city and didnt want to play at the club.' - Pretty bl00dy clearly for all to hear without any concern.

So Im starting to lean towards the belief that the indigenous players at our club under Bailey were treated with kids gloves. They could walk around in public and diss the club apparently without any issues. Then when Neeld arrived suddenly Aaron Davey is allegedly telling Misfid that he is a racist and then denies it?? Seems strange to me given Liam's situation, the fact that a number of times this year Liam asked 'not to play.' What if after being treated with kid's gloves suddenly they are put under the pump?

I certainly don't think that Liam, and Wona, have done much to "progress the cause" for indigenous players by their antics this year.

One would think the club may be a bit wary about commitment.

How do you figure that?

So disapointing he wont be with us next year and he's gonna be a force if he lines up with adelaide...

Alright mfc time to pull up your socks and get us something of value for him...anyone think a playr + 2nd rnd pick is out of the question?

Or Lawrence, he just walked out on us a week or two ago.

I"m not a Neeld advocate. We missed the boat with Malthouse and will spend the next 3 years around 12-16 as a result. Lets hope there's more to Neeld than meets the eye. Anythings possible.

re Davey

Maybe theres more validity in the off the cuff lambasting that you ridicule so quickly.

Davey does have a role as mentor of his 'brothers" Liam was one of the charges under his wing. So maybe there is a question to ask , how much might have Aaron known about Liam's inclination to go walkabout?

If he knew anything did he pass it on to the club ?

Whats wrong with asking these ?

Careful. The Demonland guardians of moral turpitude will have you strung up for daring to ask such questions of the brothers...

Jason Mifsud could be reading these posts right now....

What is the indigenous "cause"?? What are the antics exactly? Nothing proved . Tell me what did Fevola do to progress the white man's cause? Would you like anymore examples.

Perhaps the White Person doesn't need a cause cos he's shat all over Aboriginal culture, tradition and people for over 200 years.

Still happening....

Three players have walked out on the club in last couple of years: Wonna, Lawrence and now Liam.

Fev, there's a thought. Handy 2 Yr option. We'd be up to 10th this time next year.

I'm just sick of getting punched in the balls.

Dont worry Striker they go numb after a while and being an MFC supporter you should be used to it!

Fev was on my wish list this year. Not a hope in hell Melbourne would go there.

I'm not a dad yet, and I'd like to be one someday...although if it means I subject another human being to this hell I probably shouldn't!

fair enough... it could be said that LJ just couldnt go the extra yard to the professionalism required for AFL..

What does that story say about the coach?

That, like everyone else, he can lead a horse to water...................

Also, thaipantsman, can you just get a friggin punching bag with Neeld's face on it so you don't feel the need to find a way to refer to your disapproval of him in EVERY post.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
