I wasn't too keen on Strauss early on but he seems to have developed a bit and was getting much more aggressive in his play before he broke his leg. I reckon he can play and could turn out to be a pretty good player.

Are those boots moon boots? Because he is pretty fragile!

I don't get it. We have a young player who clearly has some talent but who also has had a pretty poot run win injuries, now when he's finally starting to show something Melbourne fans are sticking the boot into him?

Jesus, we should be celebrating the fact that he's finally putting some games together and understand that he'll be much better for the run and a proper pre-season.

How opinions change over time....

Just another example of why a player like Cook deserves more time.

Absolutely. Strauss = 16 games. Cook = 0 games. Next we'll be saying that Rory Taggert is rubbish. These players need support at the games, not people bagging them online.

Congratulations. Says all that needs to be said about MFC culture.

Looks promising and won me over with his performances last year. And in the game that he broke his leg I reckon that was gonna be his breakout game. He was killing Garlett early and was offensively good. Has come back and looks like he has potential.

But Strauss has done more than Cook, shown more than Cook.

He hadn't at the same stage of his career, and many on this forum were ready to delist him.

And Cook is a tall.

It says nothing of MFC culture.

It says a lot about the idiots that support all teams.

The club drafts skinny, fragile type players who break down, they are real culture builders.

Strauss is a prime example, 16 games since being drafted in 2008.

Take your MFC culture babble elsewhere you fool.

Great to see him back after that terrible injury last year. I thought he showed a bit before that and I'm looking forward to what he can produce next year after a proper pre season!

Loved the other players contacting him for support! One of the best parts of our game!

Anyone who can kick the ball as well as Strauss is welcome to get a game.

Too many players on the list can't kick.

Just a shame that he's only had 22 kicks this year...at a lousy average of 4 a game.

If he can start getting more of the footy I'll be enthused, but right now we have too many

players that struggle to break the 10-15 posessions barrier (Jetta, Strauss, Tapscott, Spencer,Bail, Sellar)

Stick to your fantasy football. You know nothing about real football. Keeping living your fantasy life, tough guy.

Being the sub has skewed those results.

KingDingAling seems to think that he broke the leg because he was soft, or skinny, so WE must be wrong about him.

Granted he did have a slow start due to other injuries, but he is now looking like he will produce the goods.

I must say that I did have my reservations early on - mooted as an elite kick but one who couldn't get enough of the ball to show it.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
