I'm off to the G for the match of the day (... er well, um, it's surely going to better than Gold Coast v Greater Western Sydney?).

It's an away game at the MCG but did I read correctly somewhere that a membership ticket gets you into this one?

I would like to know if members ticket get us in to Jack

Two late outs for the Saints in Clinton Jones and Farren Ray helps our cause marginally, but we will get obliterated unless it rains like last time. Regardless, GO DEES!

ummm, he looks like he is equal highest disposal getter on the ground, but don't let that get in the way of your rant!

What to do with trengove? He is struggling. Maybe put him behind the ball, get some easy touches? He's really labouring.

surely he's mentally stressed to make that mistake

yes, he's trying his heart out

Despite the overwhelming negatives, one huge positive is Nathan Jones he is an absolute gun now, courage was never in doubt, now has lifted his disposal to go along with it. That kick to Green was superb. Yes sometimes still tries to do too much but I feel that's more to do with a lack of options rather than wanting to do too much.

I'm not ranting. I just worry where his head is?

Can we please pick up some midfielders so i don't have to watch McKenzie butchering the ball all over the ground.

and FFS Trengove, can you not kick further than 35 metres? Inexcusable to kick into the man on the mark from that range.

From what I've seen both captain Jacks are playing well (apart from Trenners kicking into the man on the mark). Grimes in particular is looking good in his 50th.

Sellar showed he's a spud at both ends dropping an easy mark to gift Kozi a goal and never looking close to getting a set shot in the forward line.

Jettas looking lively and has done a couple of good things. Jones as always is working his proverbial off, and is showing more still than half the team combined.

Much more needed out of Beamer and Sylvia, ball movement is good but we're lacking the final step to deliver to the forwards. Watching on my iPhone so can't really tell, are the forwards doing enough on their leads?

I love Jones and enjoy watching Blease. Almost everything else about Melbourne is painful to see and reflected on the scoreboard. Still no goals and we're in the second quarter.

Agree totally Gonzo. Only thing is that he is trying to do it all himself. I can understand why he does that.

Big statement ... we can win this.

I like a lot of what I'm seeing.

Thats the spirit

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
