No need to apologise mate, but thanks anyway. Footy people are passionate and it's what helps make the game so wonderful. I understand completely why some people might vent their frustration in all sorts of directions, including mine. I've got a thick hide mate. Also, I know that most Dees supporters continue to love Liam and give him their support. Let's hope he returns, has a great pre-season and turns on a blinder in 2013.

Thanks for keeping DL in the loop RB - you're spot on most dees fans (and no doubt most footy fans) are right behind Liam. If he does end up playing next year it would give the whole club a buzz. If not, whilst it would be sad, in his handful of games he gave us some wonderful memories.

I remember watching in awe the day he kicked that goal over his shoulder from 45m out. Could not believe I had just seen that happen. Looked like it was not physically possible.

Love to see you back next year LJ.

All the best.

It's a Cinderella story this one, next year we rise.

Liam will be back...

and the footy gods will smile on us.

Its time for the MFC to move on. The club is trying to forge its own culture and these constant issues with Liam are not helping the clubs intent of moving forward on and off the field. This is not an attack on Liam, just stating the obvious!

Sometimes cultures collide and the divide is too wide to negotiate a happy medium. I agree that the heath and happiness of Liam is paramount and I hope that his actions havent hindered his chances of beating his charge (if he is innocent). On the other side of the coin, The health and happiness of the club is just as important. The club needs to do what they can to move forward from this issue. If the club chooses to keep Liam I support its choice. If they dont, I support that decision too.

My thoughts keep going leaning to fairness to the collective. In this case its 45 other players and a club trying to move forward creating a strong culture. This issue is not about an early morning car crash. Its much bigger. Is the club able to continue to deal with this issue when community structures, institutions cant.

Demonsterative - I get where you are coming from, but totally disagree with your thoughts.

Liam has my full respect and support for the journey he has made across the emotional, mental, and cultural void between his community and the mainstream community at the MFC.

Great clubs have values and pursue those values when others would defer. While this year has been bleak and devoid of proud footy moments (only the Dons game), I have felt more proud of the club this year than I have in 40+ years of supporting it.

First was the MFC support and respect for Jimmy, his family and his memory.

The second was ditching Energy Watch for his racist and sexist rants.

The third was our support for Liam over his troubles.

Great clubs support their players.

[censored] ones ditch them.

I think a club builds a strong culture by supporting its own and not walking away if things get too hard otherwise it's just a bunch of meaningless words. I'm happy for our club to stand with Liam and I hope they continue to do so.

I'm not saying ditch Liam. I question the clubs ability (culture) to move through such complex issues. If Liam was a Sydney Swan, I would be more confident in Syd's culture and structures to support Liam. If the club did decide to delist Liam, I expect the club to support Liam individually and see the process thru. Without affecting the other 45 players.

Jimmy was a different case. He is a club legend and provided fantastic leadership over 3 decades, as a player and administrator.

I wish I could be as positive as you DC.

Just looks like an ever increasing downward spiral to me.

We made our choice years ago when we first signed on with this mob. The die was cast.

Seriously people, a little less negativity would be a wonderful thing here. Does anyone have any concrete news that LJ plans to leave the club? If so, please feel free to enlighten us, but otherwise how about giving both he and the club the benefit of the doubt and accepting this at face value? Personally, I think that if Liam were planning on giving up on the AFL he'd tell the club up front. Likewise, if he wanted a trade to another club he'd ask for one. I have no concrete information to base this on, but everything I have ever read or heard about him says that he is a good guy, so I'm happy to think the best of him until he shows me otherwise.

Personally, if I were facing court with a chance of going to jail, I'd be sending time with my family too. It doesn't matter if the lawyers think he has a great case, the doubt is going to be there until the results are official. I have absolutely no problem with him spending time with his loved ones before the trial.

Ah, but if we can ... which is perhaps a big if ... we'll be so much the richer and stronger for it. Worth giving it a crack IMHO.

The least we can do after the year he's had is take him at his word. If he and the club says he's coming back then that's whats happening until we hear otherwise.

Good luck Liam you are a pleasure to watch play and I for one am looking forward to seeing you in the red and blue.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
