This is the part that hurts.

Chaplin would add vital defensive support to much improved Tigers key backman Alex Rance along with highly rated flanking defenders Dylan Grimes, Jake Batchelor and big Ben Griffiths.

So many on here were just about begging the club to pick up Dylan Grimes.

Intresting that same person that wrote the article said a couple of days ago boak would sign for 2 years which he did. would not be surprised if we were really chasing pearce hard

Interesting, my mental picture of Pearce has always been of a front-runner who went missing a lot and didn't get enough of the ball, but his statistics don't reflect that at all. The years of actively avoiding watching Port play has obviously completely impaired my ability to judge their players.

Who, Hagdorn? He's living proof of the infinite monkey theorem. Occasionally he'll get one right just on the laws of probability.

I'm not a huge fan but I think he can provide a role if we got him for the right price. He could play the Davey roll circa 2008, sitting in the pocket, getting the crumbs, applying pressure.

We could just sit him next to Clark to get the crumbs when Clark cant take a mark because he has 5 defenders spoiling seen as their opponents aren't willing to do anything.

We have no crumbers at the moment. Our inside 50s for a score is 16th in the comp I'm pretty sure. Would be a good recruit.

If the recruiting mob think hes up to scratch then its a tick.

Who knows how the events at Port have affected anyone also. Some say the same of us I acknowledge.

agreed. seen him play a few games and he played well - has a lovely kick, but to be honest don't know a heck a of a lot about him - just hope the recruiting dept do their due diligence on him thoroughly.

I had exactly the same view until checking him out a bit more. One stat which is very promising I think is that he is 5th in the entire comp for total bounces taken, so clearly he can get the ball and run. Also 15th for total kicks.

Pearce is a real target for me. Clearly has the skills, pace and goal kicking we need in a midfielder. Agree with a 4 year, $400k a year deal. Would be waiting for Viney, Jones, J Mck (Caddy, Stevens, Wines) to distribute the ball to him.

We need more class albeit to compliment the clearances ball winners.

Could be a bargain if neeld gets the best out of the kid. but am not sold 100% def has some talent just whether he can do it consistently or not i guess? had a huge debut season i remember

As much as I am looking forward to watching Pearce bludging around the forward line and comparing pay packets all day with Davey, how about we target some players who have the desire, just not the opportunity, rather than vice versa?

Hopefully he passes the psyche tests.......

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025.
