6 - Sylvia - last couple of weeks are looking good

5 - Martin - Looks like he can get back to the form of '11 if he's in the team for a while

4 - MacDonald - usually I don't like him, good aggression today.

3 - Blease - Needs to get much more of the ball though

2 - Watts - good comeback after a bad first quarter.

1 - Nicho - some good things

Not many touches but was at least at the drop of the ball to make it harder for his direct opponent.

Would rather that than Nicho's clangers.

edit: 11 disposals, 11 1%ers

6 Howe as he never stopped trying

5 Watts with 95% DE, and great vision

4 MacDonald who for once actually disposed well and never gave up

3 Sellar also never gave up

2 Martin - a ruckman who had 21 possessions

1 Sylvia although he never really imposed himself

Don't know which game you were watching. The one I saw today featured an enthusiastic Sellar who played quite well at CHB, I thought.

6- Joel "Am I the only one who thinks he's alright" MacDonald

5- Jeremy "One of the few who knows" Howe

4- GORD Mckenzie

3- James "The Magnet" Magner

2- Jack "loose back" Watts

1- Colin "Doesn't turn up to play every week but is immensely talented (Or DTUTPEWBIIT for short)" Sylvia

Worst players: Rohan "he should" Bail, James "Soggy chip sold at the MCG" Frawley, Lynden "over" Dunn, Matthew "Trade" Bate, Jake "VFL (Very fair liability)" Spencer and Jack "Come on Trengove do better" Trengove.

A note to the worst players, there is always next week to redeem yourselves. Well not always, only sometimes. Also a mention to Jack "Bad times" Grimes to fix his disposal up.

TALKING POINT FOR THE WEEK: Will Sam "Looks like Tin tin" Blease be dropped again after another fair effort? Could Neeld dare do it again?

Hope Tom "McDonalds" McDonald is alright and we are back to our MCG best against Richmond next week, I think we'll be a chance.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
