Will Neville Jetta ever play again....seriously it's been forever

Tell me about it...thought he'd flourish in Neeld's environment but we'll never know.

Always had a soft spot for him after he dribbled through that goal against the Filth right in front of their cheersquad and pressed his index finger to his mouth. Copped an absolute barrage.

Tough kid and I desperately hope he makes it back.

From what i've seen online Jurrah has been dropping steadily, so i'd say progress is being made at a reasonable rate. Nev Jetta has jumped down a bit though, wasn't he at about 4-6 weeks just last week?

Would really like to see him get back playing, not so much for the team but just for himself, I hate seeing players lingering on the injury list like he has.

I love Nev too.He has a really good kick on him and I can see him as a "front and centre" crumber in front of Mitch-except that Mitch Clark never drops em .

I think Jetta is worth holding onto seasons end and I think we will. The lack of small forwards will work in his favor. His probably the best small forward we have. Davey and Lawrence arn't making the cut.

I don't know about that. I think sometimes he falls into the 'small indigenous player, therefore small forward' stereotype. I see him more as a midfielder. He's hard at it and can run.

Lawrence looks like he can play, but doesn't seem to get involved much. He could get lucky given our need in this area. If he kicks a bag soon he may hold on. Good build and has potential.

Last time 2-4 weeks lasted for 10 months so give it another 2 months and itll drop to 2-3 weeks

I agree olisik

My gut tells me it is doubtful we will see him again in 2012.

If correct he will have played a half a game for the year.

Of course if you know what goes the wrong way we may not see him again.

I think jurrah should be thrown into the mix as trade bait to be honest. I know people here love him but it looks as if he is made of ceramic and takes longer then usual to get over injuries.

Some clubs may be willing to pay something of value for him and i struggle to see him having any big impact at the MFC in the future due to injuries and off field concerns.

Who on earth would consider him at this point.

Unless there is a dramatic change in AS I doubt you would get an offer at 2012 trade time.

Don't know if anyone watched Misson's report online, but Jetta only a week away from getting back to Casey - and Evans the week after that.

On the other hand, he covered everyone on the injury list - except Liam. I found it a bit pointed, especially after Rudeboy's posts, but perhaps I'm reading too much into it.

Which of course, we never do at Demonland.

Jettas to skinny to be a midfielder. Not enough grunt about him in my opinion.

Are you sure you're thinking of the right bloke ? Jetta may lack a few things but grunt ain't one of them. If he was a step quicker I'd like to see him tried as a small defender. He relishes the physical side of the game & loves a tackle

If some of the injured players start coming back where does that leave Magner and Couch who were promoted from Rookies because of injuries to others?

We were able to elevate one at the start of the year due to having 1 veteran spot filled with Green (we can have 2 vets, but if we don't, we can elevate a rookie). That would take care of Magner.

As for the other rookies, Gawn is on teh LTI list, and will not be returning this season. That allows us to elevate another (Couch).

Mid season, I believe all Clubs can elevate another rookie.

As we have Couch and Nicholson as rookies that have already been elevated due to LTIs, and given that we now only have one player on the LTI list (Gawn), I'd imagine Couch would replace Gawn and Nicholson is the mid-season rookie elevation.

After round 11 clubs can play an extra rookie on a week by week basis; no requirements to elevate them to the main list.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
