Who's aboard the 50-50 train?

1 and 10 at the half way mark. Looking at our opponents for the 2nd half, I'm not rolling my eyes at any of them.

Considering we have improved each week (arguably) and we've played all the top 9 (apart from Adelaide) I don't think any games are out of reach.

Not beyond the realms of possibility, but they will need to start going into games attacking the ball from the opening bounce. Those starts against the Swans and Collingwood were unforgivable.

There is a small optimistic part of me that would like to believe that... But I am currently embedded on the front bumper grill of the reality bus. And believe me, it hurt when it hit me.

The 50-50 bus is much softer and won't hurt. In fact, it's padded and they give you these wonderful white jackets with buckles on the back.

If we don't finish the year with 7 wins I think I'd consider the year less than a success.

The Rd 1 loss to the Lions was a shocker. I reckon we'd beat them by 5 goals now at the G.

I'd think we'll beat:

GWS x 2

Suns

North

And sneak over 2 of Freo, Port, Brisbane, or Richmond.

I like that we've got a bit of mongrel in us too. It gives me more confidence.

I think the reality bus passed the point where we could consider this year anything but "less than a success" about 6 rounds ago.

At this point we are looking for morsels and glimmers of hope for next season.

Sorry to be a kill joy.

The way I see it we should beat GWS x2 and GC. That gives us 4 wins. I could maybe see us pinching another one against Port, freo or STK.

Sorry, I'm already aboard the reality bus. It's going in the opposite direction.

I'm afraid I've booked on the Reality Bus too. It's very crowded and my seat is right down the back. I'll really struggle to get off.

Some would suggest you have a firm grasp on the reality of our sitaution PaulRB.

We have had one win,

Our average losing score is 54.9 points ( ( 9 goals), we lost by 42 yesterday.

The result is a couple of more wins if we play out of our skins.

My best result is 4 for the season.

A novel idea would be maybe to "take one week at a time".

I could see us winning say 7 of the remaining games, or just a few.

The team are more and more getting their act together -- they now need to do it consistently within games and between games.

I am confident that it will gel; just not sure if it will be this year or next.

The score line would argue with you monoccular.

I would agree have improved, we are not a shambles for entire games now

GWS, Suns, Port, Freo, North for the first time in who knows how long!

Dear god please let us bear north for a change. I hate losing to that embarrassment of a 'club' more than any other, the filth included

And yes I know, people in glass houses re: embarrassment in recent times...

Not Just Recent time mate most of the last 40 years.

In that that time they have won 4 premierships, Dees nil

They have beaten us 9 times in a row since 2007.

If they are an embarrassment of a club I not sure where that leaves the dees.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
