I reckon it was genius of him to coach the last quarter on the bench and I reckon he just would have been encouraging them all the time. I looked down and he actually had to hold the players back so they wouldnt run on the ground before the siren went. I watched the end bit at home and just the emotion of him chucking down the headphones and hugging the 4 interchange players then running to the rooms.

I thought he may have actually ran out onto the ground with the players but instead he wanted to share it with his assistant coaches and others. Loved how all the support staff got around him and I reckon he should have been in the middle of the circle but I guess he thought it was the players moment. he has just had a huge weight lifted from his shoulders and he will sleep very well.

Also loved how Don McLardy just went up and gave him a huge hug. Hope it can continue.

If those blokes had have ran on, given away an interchange infringement and 50 metres, and Dustin Fletcher slots a torpedo from 70 metres on the siren, I think I would have quietly turned my television off, never to watch or attend a game of football ever again.

Love it, Maybe he could have smashed the Plastic on the roof "re Bailey last lear" sort of our own Jacket wave.

Love how he was holding a few players to stop them running on to the field.

It's only going to get better.

Great image but Neeld said it himself one win. I want to see four or five more myself.

If we stay committed to the game plan and keep morale up, that is possible.

Gotta say I loved how as soon as he finished celebrating on the boundary with the bench players he went straight down to the rooms and let the boys have the moment. Not criticising Bailey, but I certainly thought last year we carried on a bit too much with the Essendon win.

The players and Mark celebrated, but they were already starting to move on and think about next week. I'm looking forward to him joining in the next winning rendition (hopefully on June 11th!).

We saw Mark coach last night. Not just teach.

Now he can build on that.

I'd say we've seen him coach each round this season so far.

Does anyone know what the sportsbet odds for us to win were, going into the game?

Go DEES!

WYL was listening earlier to Mark Fine on SEN with Robert Shaw who verbatim said the same thing.

One day he'll have his own views on footy - that make sense.

I beg your pardon??

Big statement considering i was sleeping off a huge night on the turps. If Finey & Shaw said that Good on them. Moving Judy Garland up forward was a coaching move. Not a teaching role.

Keep smiling sunshine. Same to you Jose....aka....

I loved the game, I loved the new positions and I think everything worked last night. Magnificent game.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
