Golly that's a tough question. Like this one...

Lets suppose thes is one club, the MFC

MFC - short term contract till November.

Which would you take?

But I have a job now in SA

Goes on forever

I hope we get him

I think he is good at his job

and it would stick it to his AFL nemesis

Correct me if I wrong but I thought we had offered the Pies guy the job and had to wait till his contract with Collingwood expired in October!

We cannot afford to wait until October - we need to get on with 2013 planning right now, and it looks as is we are likely to know quite soon which picks we will have.

I know a little about Matt and he is a nice guy and easy to get along with but most importantly has a track record of good draft selections. We would be remiss not to speak to him, especially considering our current list and the angst over many of our draft selections of the last few drafts.

Definitely need a guy with a proven track record.

Not only Craig, but our "recruitment manager" Todd Viney worked with Rendell for a couple of years too. Maybe he could "consult" to us for this year.

Well they as a team did a bloody good job, so reunite them asap.

It would've been PR poison five minutes after he got the flick. The AFL would've blown a gasket as well. Plenty has happened since then - the guy who killed him commiting credibility suicide being one - and time heals all wounds and all that.

Yes, but that was always the contention.

Not straight away, as time heals, but this year it would be prudent.

And behind closed doors, there's nothing to have stopped us talking to him soon after the "incident."

Unless he has at least one indigenous parent ,we shouldn't even consider him.

(Just my private thoughts said hypothetically)

Just announced as new head of recruiting at the Filth.

G Walsh to move on, apparently.

Geoff Walsh is "Director of Football", Derek Hine is "National Recruiting Manager".

Sounds like a big staff change-up or a half-baked rumour.

Rendell did say he was keen to get out of recruiting - he could easily go down the Director of Football path.

But what the hell does Eade do then?

Report in sun saying pies in talks but if they land rendall then he will replace taylor, and pies won't stop him coming to us so win win

Yes, I hope it works like that. That would be advantageous.

And Eddie will try and spin it to make it look like they weren't being bitter little sh!ts at us poaching their staff...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
