You have got to be kidding me.....

Elaborate?

Don't think he has played well enough to hold his spot....

I'm going to assume they mean 50/50 to play for Casey.

There is no Casey games for two weeks Harcourt.

But I know were you are coming from

Is it just me or have we yet to see the best 22 available players selected for a match?

Unfortunately robbo24 I don't think it would have made a hugh difference.

It's a tough one, he was absolutely useless against the cats (albeit playing against one of the greatest defenders in the game) and poor against the saints. I didn't think he played well v dogs as well, but I also feel that Fitzy just isn't ready.

His role in the team is To be a chop out ruck man and a second forward. As a ruck he's serviceable, as a forward he hasn't done squat. I'd be happy for them to leave him out one more week if he's 50/50 fitness wise and give Fitzy another crack.

Stef will likely overtake them both when he's fit.

I forgot about Casey's bye, damn they actually do mean MFC. To say I've been underwhelmed by Sellar is a big understatement. I'm surprised we even considered him to be honest. He couldn't get a game under Neil Craig yet we somehow see fit to bring him to Melbourne where he's been equally as bad. I really hope the Stefan Martin Experience can get back asap (even though he has been fairly useless this year as well). I would persist with Fitzy if I had to choose between Sellar and Fitzy though. 100% agreement

PS not sure if you missed it but there is no Casy seniors game for 2 weeks.

So anyone dropped at present has 2 weeks to cool their heels.

Fitzy would have to improve 1000% just to be serviceable, he needs a couple more years at Casey.

melbourne's long list of failed talls doesnt bode well for these guys.

Sellar has at least been drawing defenders for some reason - why ill never know since his hands seem covered in oil but he has been double teamed quite a lot.

Fitz looked lost. And Ive gone off Stef as he really only had one quality season and this season has gone back to all his old problems.

He's been injured hasn't he? I've been looking for his name just about every week at Casey and never seen it. He gets back in the side all of a sudden we've got a top ruckman and one that last year showed he could more than hold his own. He can take a mark, the biggest issue for me is he thinks he can go for a run and deliver the ball well. Keep it simple and I think he'll be ok.

I think Sellar has a bit of ability but just hasn't been able to produce it, of course he isn't an orphan in that regard, is he?

He has been able to get his hands on the ball but just can't stick it; the fact that he gets his hands there shows he can find the ball and if he can hold a few he could be an asset.

I'm hearing you, but he has no defensive game - Stef must learn this part of his game to get a gig in the ones.

of course he does robbie but the alternatives (sellar/martin) are in the same boat

we may as well give fitzy another game to see if he has anything. at least he has been playing well at casey

we have a major problem at the moment in that we don't have 22 players who 'deserve' a game based on form

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
