So I'm sure some of you saw both Watts and MacDonald giggling like little boys at the site of them on the screen at Kardina.

I thought it was a pretty awful look considering we were down by 6 goals, and both had just been dropped. Watts was in hysterics, seemed to be quite the happy chappy.

I know a few of you will look at this as a beat-up, just another way to attack Watts. But I've actually been vocal in the last week about his performance last week, that it was a tough game for talls and he had a tough game. See my previous posts for proof.

If ever I need convincing that this "kid" (and I mean that in the literal sense) was just not the professional we need/ed him to be, that moment was it. MacDonald's response was a bit like, "LOL...ok cool, calm down Wattsy". But Watts just kept going and going.

I'm VERRRRRY surprised Malthouse didn't say something. You could just tell that he wanted to. Both times the camera was on Watts, he had a big smile on his face.

It looked terrible we were getting creamed and he was laughing his head off; that seems to sum up his attitude it's all in good fun you get beat no harm done.

Just on another note I saw some of the Casey game at half time and Jack laid a tackle which was the most insipid I think I've ever seen; sorry I didn't hurt you did I?

To be honest, I agree to an extent. Footy should be serious business to these guys, and even if one of them cracked a joke or something, I don't think Watts should have gone on and on and on laughing when he knew the cameras were on him. I don't really care about the laughing, but I'm worried about what it might say about him as a person. Does he really care about footy?

Normally I'd be critical of threads like these as overreaction, but considering where we are as a club, on the back of accusations the players don't care, 0-6, Watts dropped, and getting dominated in normal play, it was a really bad look in my opinion to see the #1 draft pick joking around while we head towards another 10 goal loss. Not what I want to see as a supporter amidst all the talk that we're determined to get better.

Is it pre-season again? Nothing else to post about?

How about we critiicize Watts for his hair-cut or choice of after-shave?

Inane.

I don't think he knew the cameras were on him, to be fair (not saying I'm fine with the way they were acting).

Blease was sitting next to them busy 'Tweeting' away on his iPhone...seems to be a bit on the outer with his teammates in my opinion.

He also kicked 4 goals and was in the best. A bit harsh to bag him for a tackle.

Is this really a comment on a 'supporters' forum?

Jack just kicked 4 and played well. He's not paid to look sad and be the barometer for the supporters emotions.

Support the boys. It's not only the least you can do, it's the only thing!

I'm also strongly of the opinion that ever since he ditched the mop and opted for a more clean-cut hair style, we've lost our drive out of the middle.

Just sayin'

Obviously someone cracked a joke. Even the supporters behind were laughing. Lay off.

I'm sure he wasn't laughing on Thursday when he was dropped and he responded correctly by doing his best for casey. Non issue

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
