Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Maybe it's not a risk and it won't get any worse, but it just won't get much better?

I'm sure if he is injured the club would either manage it or rest him. We did a lot of distance running pre season maybe he needs a good sprint coach to get his speed up it could be something as simple as that.

Soo sad to see because he's my favourite player and I thought he showed a lot in his first two seasons. I don't think even the MFC make someone captain for no reason. Is painfully slow and can't kick more than 30 metres. Reminds me so much of Luke Ball playing when he had OP.

The Luke Ball analogy is certainly a possibility: but Neeld and Missen should recognize that and get on with doing something about it, surely, rather than running him into the ground in meaningless matches.

He needs to be 100 pc for next year - think and look ahead.

He may well not be injured at all ... quite a scary thought.

Now that is very scary: we got rid of Brock largely because he was so slow, and now he burns off Jack.

It's not just Trengove though - can't remember who, but Watts got burnt off by someone he shouldn't too, and it wasn't from lack of desire. He was trying to get there.

I think it's got a lot to do with the players getting smashed in training during the week still.

The load on their legs means by the 3rd quarter they are dead out there.

Didn't Neil Craig experiment with smashing his players at training during the season, then easing off sonthey were fresh for finals?

I've got a feeling we'll be very fresh for our much easier run in the second half of the season.

Trengove had two touches to half time. Couldn't get near it.

I know, I was talking about the players as a collective.

I think Trengove may be carrying an injury, but I think the list as a whole has a large load on their legs at the moment too.

Runs like he has OP at the moment.

Despite this he nearly took a speccy .

There is something wrong with his pace-he needs a rest.

Missed some of the NAB cup - he has had or is having issues.

I am not worried about it - we all know he is better than what the has shown and we all know he has more power than what he has shown - if he is playing than the club don't think it is degenerative.

He had a good, tough second half with 12 touches, that was heartening and hopefully he can contribute more from here on in.

I accept that in all probability he has an injury, which is curtailing his output. But I also don't like the role he's presently playing. In his first two years Trengove played instinctive footy. He hunted the ball at stoppages. Now he hunts the man at stoppages and the ball is a secondary consideration. I can only assume that it's part of the broader plan to teach him accountability and the defensive aspects of modern footy.

I'd like to see the shackles taken off.

I can assure you from a 110% reliable source that Trengove has been

carrying an injury all season. (I didn't ask what it was)

Yep, I've heard the same.

It's official. Trengove is slooow! No line breaker thats for sure. I hope it's an injury that he can recover from in due course. But the signs are not good particularly when you are burnt off by McLean.

Blease on the other hand was impressive and will gain confidence from his performance. He did similar things towards the end of last season. He will be encouraged to take the game on.

One thing for sure, we didn't miss Sylvia or Davey. At least our team had a go this week and we were probably spared seeing Sylvia kissing and hugging McLean at the end of the game.

He's been like this all year. Reeks of OP to me. He has no power in his running, can't accelerate, and can't kick. Hallmarks of OP.

If he can't run, he shouldn't be playing. He's not influencing games at all. Can't actually think of any game where he's been at his best.

Agree with your former point, that kick the other week for me from him lining up from 35-40m out was very unusual which lacked penetration and triggered my thoughts on OP.

He could still close in on McLean, but it is evident that he is lacking some power. If he does have symptoms of OP, I would be resting him.

Yeah I remember that kick. I can't remember which game it was (St Kilda, maybe), where he took that set shot from 40 metres out and it went all of about 25. But he's been running slowly/with no acceleration since Round 1. It's been frustrating, sad, and disappointing all at once.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
