Tom Mcdonald 4th. I have really high hopes for TMc, in 10 years time i reckon he will be leading the list of "draft steals". 55 or something he went at?

Two of the top four are in only their second year... hmm.

They're flying ! I'm sure they miss Trengove.

Just remember, performance on the footy field is what really matters.

Exactly.

I couldn't give a flying f*#k who wins the any of the running trials.

Where was Morton? I thought the only thing he was good at was running?

Heard he was in the second or third group of runners in the first session also. Why is that?

The three leaders looked to have really shot away from the others, I would've expected the players to be a lot more bunched up. Some of them have a hell of a lot of work to do I'd have thought.

Dave Misson is just what this club needs...You can tell he will demand respect and excellence. If he gets it those players will be successful.

Well done to Cam Schwab, Jimma & whoever else was involved in getting him to the MFC...

Frontrunners: Jones, Bail, Nicholson.

First one no surprise, second not really either, third is a bit though.

Not sure why you are surprised by Nicholson

He is fast normally and he is a rookie who is into his second year on the rookie list.

He will be looking to follow up his 2011 good showing with a better 2012.

It is 2012 or never for this guy.

Hope he makes it.

Probably did not take a holiday wants to impress the new coaches straight up.

Is Trengove's running ability up there with Jones? I'd be surprised if he made our top 5.

While you are 100% right HT about onfield performance that matters, Neeld certainly threw the callenge out there this morning when he indicated what times they should be striving for. He obviously thinks that there is a benchmark that most of our players have to achieve, so offield performance is pretty important at the moment.

Considering his sister is a complete running freak I'd be very surprised if he wasn't in our top 5, possible even #1.

Are you serious Harcourt?

Yeah why not? I can remember he was very highly rated from an endurance point of view during the draft. Surely some of his older sister's running ability has also been passed to him. There was a huge gap between the top three from what I could see so I would bet he'd be top 5 at the very least. We shall find out when he gets back from the Gold Coast next week.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
