Melbourne's tackling machine missed several early season games because of groin problems, but made up for the late start with some fine performances once he was back in the team.  

Despite the late start, McKenzie finished in the club's top three for both handballs and tackles.

He's obviously loved by the club, and he's also loved by me. Keep up the good work Jordie - can't think of a player who I'd be more pleased for to see carrying the cup on Grand Final day.

This wonderful young man is just about THE MVP in our midfield.

His attack on man and ball is exemplary -- #10 should have a bloody good long and hard look at him to discover just how much more important pure G&D is than raw talent!!

Over the last couple of years whenever he has been unable to play we have been greatly the poorer for it.

It's actually impressive, the way we on Demonland can manage to turn ANY thread in to an opportunity to bag Morton. The guy had a bad year, give him a break FFS.

Got a lot of love for Jordie. The grunt in our midfield for sure. My only gripe is terrible kicking and insistence upon doing anything other than kicking. Sometimes when searching for a handball rather than a kick he really ups the pressure on himself. We have got ourselves a star in this kid, and if they can teach him to kick and have confidence in his kicking, we will have a deadset superstar.

One of my favourite players and a great guy to boot. He will look so much better when we have a few skilled outside players around him.

Sam Mitchell makes other players look good and they help him too. All it takes is a bit of chemistry.

Can't agree at all Lutz. The amount of times I have seen him doing anything to avoid kicking the ball. It's even to the point that the commentators joke about it regularly. I should admit though that I shouldn't comment on the quality of his kicking, as it is something I rarely ever see, but he quite obviously doesn't have confidence in it. I don't understand how you can't see that, but to each their own.

Kento80 is correct, McKenzie too often doesn't even look to kick as an option, he is too reliant on using the ball by hand which on many occasions has lead to mistakes or avoidable errors.

That can be changed thought I think. Jobe Watson was exactly the same and has turned out to be a terrific kick. Would love to see Jordie master that and take his game to the next level. Really admire him no matter what.

He's a better kick than he thinks he is.

I want to strangle Green, Moloney, and Davey when they trail behind him screaming at him to handpass it to them while they are standing still in awful positions.

Neeld (coach) + Ranga (student)= a much better TEAM & RANGA smashing opponents everywhere with skill, aggression & teamwork............sorry the surf's flat and I'm doing some imaginitive thinking.....lol......I've posted plenty of luv for Ranga in prev posts, he's the G&D + H&S we need to teach others on our list.

Jordie is a hard nut who puts his body on the line and plays his guts out every time he takes the field. He is the ultimate team player who thrives on hard work . He's a footballer's footballer. I know these are all overused cliches, but for me they sum up perfectly the way Jordie plays his footy, and why he is held in such high esteem around the Club and amongst Dees supporters. It's easy to understand why he won his second successive Coaches Award and the Players Award for his efforts in 2011. These were great achievenents, especially as he missed a large part of the pre-season and some early rounds with groin problems. Well done Jordie ........ I wish we had a few more with your attitude.
