No- haven't you ever heard anyone say "escape goat" before lol!

Um.....think about it..................kidding

" There's not much in this , just a bit of push and shove , the players have nothing to worry about !"

or

There's not much in this the posters have nothing to say

Have we just witnessed a "Watershed moment?"

After he won the 2007 Norm Smith medal, Steve Johnson said "We cannot rest on our morals."

Sage words. Most people's morals are far too flimsy for that.

my most hated.... "Premiership window"

I understand what its saying, but wow, I am sick of hearing it.

we're on the same page there Bbb.

only just started reading this thread and got through one page and got annoyed lol its not really a cliche' & i dont know if someones already brought it up but i hate it on this site and other forums when ppl are talking about for lines, for example when some goes: just imagine the forward set up

Petterd Watts Howe

Jurrah Clark Davey and then follow on with thats scary good!!!

I've got one.

It really grinds my gears when people start doing a Hutchy/Caro "it's a bad call/good call" rip-off.

It sounds dumb when they say it, so how do you think is reads on here?

The king of them all, and the bastion of moronic supporters everywhere: accepting mediocrity.

thats the one that gets me, accepting crap and making excuses

The thing I hate the most is when the media or anyone for that matter talk about players in plurals, the Sylvia's, Green's, Watt's, Davey's have to start....... blah blah blah. There is only one each of these player's why talk as if there are 3-4. Gary Ayres and Tony Shaw are the worst at it but heaps of "experts" do it, It give's me the shits.

To borrow a line from Peter Griffin "This really grinds my gears". The use of the word ELITE in football circles also grinds em.

What will be our "season defining game" in 2012?

It will be when several of the boys "have a break-out game".

Yeah footy commentators are big into hyperbole.

A team is either Elite or Insipid! doesnt seem to be much middle ground!

Please clarify. Do you want 'lol' banned as a cliche?

No. It was in reference to Retro's post.

'Under the pump!' Wtf does that mean?

When sailing ships of yore were in a storm and taking on water the crew would man the pumps (manual) to prevent the ship from sinking. So to be under the pump was to be under extreme pressure and in dire straits.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
