Greene would be a bonus but I doubt he will still be there.

Viney, O'Meara and Greene over the next two years would be just to good to be true.

Greene will still be there at 12 recruiters still get blinded by combine results and he didn't go that well but no matter what they do they can't test you for footy smarts or how you react in the pressure cooker!

This is it, Kavanagh might drop for similar reasons, not quite to 12 imo more like 10.... players like Will Hoskin Eliiot have moved up just because they can do a good sprint ect

God I hope so, would be ecstatic with Greene, he is a jet. Works well in the clinch as well, him and Viney together would provide midfield grunt for 10-13 years for the Dees.

Ok we are back to this old chestnut, Pick 12, still a very good pick to have imo with some nice looking kids likely to be available.

i threw around some names in Green, Mckenzie, Buntine and Paine available

anybody else have any thoughts on who would be good?

I posted this comment in another thread and was over looked. Seems like this would be a more appropriate place to post.

SOS on trade week radio said GWS will not be trading any of their first round picks, that being the case I am wondering what strategy they will take in the national draft.

Having 11 picks in the first 15, I hope their first 4-5 picks will be best available then will move towards needs. As they already have Scully, Ward and Palmer in the midfield what are the chances a highly rated midfielder slipping to Melbourne at pick 12.

Need to also considerer who Brisbane and Port will be targeting with picks 6 & 8. Phantom Drafts have Port snatching Hoskin-Elliot and Brisdane Kavanagh. This leaves 6 highly rated midfielders available, assuming that GWS snatch up Coniglio, Wingard and Tyson. I am hoping that one of Adams, Kavanagh, Sumner or Greene slip to us.

Below are the predicted top 15 by position

Forward - Patton, Paine

Midfield - Coniglio, Tyson, Wingard, Hoskin-Elliot, Adams, Kavanagh, Sumner, Greene

Ruck - Longer, Bolger

Defence - Buntine, Ellis

I asked Knightmare on BigFooty and this was his response.

"GWS will look to add the KPPs + rucks they like.

So Patton, Longer. Then maybe a Bolger or Paine could also be among those 1st rounders.

But probably won't just go KPPs for the sake of going KPPs, because in the 1st round probably many of the mids will be among the better of the players.

The likes of Wingard and Coniglio can pretty easily swing forward onto a forward flank. Then if a Devon Smith is drafted he can pretty easily be thrown into a forward pocket. So I don't think GWS will necessarily be worried about drafting too many quality mids, even though they already have plenty.

Kavanagh has been one who has talked about as a possible slider, good one to target if he does slide. Can also see Greene being available at 12, but with Jack Viney coming along next year who is a similar but slightly better player coming next year maybe you look at someone else."

Grigg was a highly rated mid and seems to have fallen off peoples radar recently... Can anyone shed any light into his strengths and weakness and if he's worth having a look at?

From Knghtmares Phantom on BF

Profile: Doesn’t have great pace or athleticism as shown by some of his draft combine results but is a real footballer who was a standout at the u18 champs. Has a super long 60m left foot kick which hits it’s targets consistently and is a real feature of his game. Really good decision maker whether by hand or foot just seems to always find the right target. Very high skill level for an inside player which along with his long kick is what makes him stand out. Good decision maker. Big ball winner. Endurance good. Ready to play now and have an impact. Could to improve further win more of the hard contested footy, is improving in this area but need to become better in this area to make it at the next level.

I reckon we'll give it to Brisbane

Do you? And I reckon Kurt Tippett will become a Lion today.

I'm not too disappointed.

The quality likely to be left at pick 12 this year was a bit underwhelming.

Happy to get Clark and hopefully end up with a handful of picks between 30 and 50.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
