Not quite correct, Barrett said the leadership group would be reviewed, and MAY result in Brad Green standing down as captain...........nothing concrete from Barrett at all!

And the name raised as possible football director was Greg Healy as opposed to Gerard.

Think I'm going to give up. I just can't understand posts like this.

Don't give up. Gerard is gonna save us. Keep the faith.

Any idea what Greg has been doing off field these past few years? I would be keen to know what business acumen he brings to the table. Sounds like great news.

This has probably been done to death in other threads so don't reply if you don't have to, but personally I think he had a very valid point.

He'd be a very good get.

He was the first that came to mind, but I was under the impression he was too busy with Quiksilver, and unwilling to move on (don't blame him, it'd be a good gig).

If this is legit, Lyon is coming up with the goods.

It is Damien Barret though, so take it with a decent grain of salt...

What happened to Lyon?

If only he had balls.

What does this mean?

I mean, he doesn't have the balls to blame an appalling loss on the fine posters of Demonland...

That takes a rare breed.

But he goes ok.

You are very good at testing my resolve to restrain myself from insulting you.

Congratulations.

Sugar was sitting at the next table to me at the Foundation dinner on Ron Barassi's table. He looked very happy to be around the Melbourne faithful and I wait for the next call of "jobs for the boys". Only difference of course is that this will be an honorary role. He could be a good fit for the position.

I'd be glad for him to be back in the fold.

I saw him a few years back, down StKilda, said hello.

I see him all the time in Brighton and he still looks fit enough to play, tough little bugger. You'd never see him shirk it on the field, but he copped heaps from the Melbourne supporters when he played.

I guess not much changes.

Good Bloke Sugar....and for any of our younger posters, Greg played in a very tough era.

Not the biggest bloke, BUT he never shirked an issue....Took a bone crunching mark in the 1990 Elimination final. To this day i don't know how he didn't get taken off on a stretcher.

Sugar Healy stood up against players much bigger than he.

He was a very good Captain.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
