First time this has happened since 07'. Wow, it took that long for the MFC to realise his true position. Bout f***n time. Should stay there for the rest of the year. Morton can play half back and I think a move of Morton to half back from wing/half forward will help so he can pick up the cheapies like he should. No man that skinny should be in a contest. I think MFC are lining up Blease to come in next week for Strauss with Morton and they will play Tapscott half forward and Blease back pocket. If only the coaching staff could be bolder.

The only time I saw Davey do anything of note was miles away from the inside 50. To me today only proved what I and others have said for the last few years: his footskills are exquisite and we need them in the guts.

I have no doubt Todd will be very bold up until Round 24...That is why he is there. He is list managing right now.

He doesn't want the coaches job next year...but he wants to develop them.

P.S it was a goal in the 2nd Q BTW. just yet another Carp decision!!!

Oh and How far did that Carlscum [censored] run with the ball without bouncing it in the first Q??

God i despise Carlton...even more than the filth.demon_cool.gif

I liked seeing him start there. I still think his best role is as a forward.

However, given we were going inside 50 with all the regularity of a constipated 80-year old, he should have been moved out in the second half to get his hands on the ball.

The problem was he could hardly move with some type of calf injury. He also looked grossly underdone after 10 weeks out.

When I read the title of the thread I presumed it was going to be about how he shouldn't be playing forward.

I don't know how bad his injury was but he seriously struggled to get involved today (still used it beautifully when he did). As a result, all today did was show that he should be playing mid and behind the ball as much as possible, certainly didn't look like a forward today!

I will be as positive and constructive as I can, Davey was pathetic today and as a leader, he was a total waste of space. Today was the perfect example of why I laughed at suggestions by many on here he should be Captain. He is scared.

I hope GWS or the Gold Coast want him next season because he's a dud and a list clogger his game today just sums up how stupid we were to sign him till 2013.

Davey Forward, Morton back in the team, Hmmn, 1 step forward & 2 steps backwards.

Davey deserves some slack, he's just back and looked very tentative and rusty.

There's plenty others amongst the leadership group (not Jones as I've had pointed out elsewhere & agree) who've been there week in and week out, and whose efforts were poor.

I hope the coaches are encouraging and supportive as he gets opportunity to re-gain confidence.

Sorry I didn't know that either knew how to take a step forward cos they're so scared and weak, but as I said Davey was an out and out forward pocket, now he is a running halfback/wingman, never played there before, never again should be. Whenever the ball is near him in the forward line on the ground things look dangerous again, and i mean dangerous like anything could happen. He is such a valuable player, such a waste playing halfback where he A) Can't defend cos he never has, and B is out of position and tries to hit too many cute targets. Morton is an out and out cheapie half backer, he plays wing as a side role. He is our version of Gibbs except our version hasn't manned the f**k up in recent years, Gibbs has a little bit.

We've got to have some sort of crumber. If it's not Flash we've got to find somebody. Maric is going down the tubes, Wona is still on the comeback trail and.... anyone else? So much bombing to the square at least if there's somebody lively down there causing trouble we can put a bit more pressure on defences.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
