I will be there with horns, jumper, scarf, possibly beanie and willing to get rowdy because I will have had an exam this morning and the best exam recovery method is to raise your blood pressure in the GSS with the Filth.

I thought there was a fair Melbourne supporter contingent there at the G against Essendon. So on the back of that, the win and what it meant, I reckon there will be a very good crowd next Monday.

Will we get back anyone ? ie. a Bartram ? Unsure.

I don't know what the result will be, except to say two things: -

1/ The boys couldn't have turned it around at a better time leading in to the QB weekend.

2/ Jimmy and the boys were looking very much forward to this encounter after last year's draw. They want to win this one.

It would be of greater significance if we had Jamar, Garland, Davey & Grimes available, but you can't always have the full squad to choose from. Also according to reports the likes of Swan, Brown, and Jolly won't be available. (Arizona bound).

That said, Melbourne by 8 points.

This could be a very, very good sign...

But yes, walk the walk.

Of last night's side, I'm not sure who I would replace if Bartram became available. Bennell was really good down back...Strauss? Harsh. Evans or Nicholson would probably be the two and it's more a tactical omission rather than a form one...

Confirmed no Swan, Brown, Macaffer and Jolly for QBD, all leave Monday for the US for two weeks.

POssibly no dale Thomas as Sunday footy show just showed footage of him punching some saints bloke in the face. MInd you he should get two but will probably get a reward from the match review panel who will award him 500 credit points toward his next offence. If he and swan miss....90 point win down to 60 to the pies

Daisy has to get weeks for that, off the ball, high, deliberate.

i just sore the daisy thomas "incident" from last night, if he does not get at least 1 week i will....i dont know what i will do but i will bloody [censored] off!!

With swan already off to the high bullsh!t training that is 2 major midfielders/runners out of their side, we could really exploit them in this area

Going to be a close game under 2 goals who ever wins

If we don't get al least 80k It will be a disappointing result.

Up to every MFC supporter to get themselves to this game.

Think we will have a let down after the emotion of this week.

I think this is a silly comment.

Disappointing not to reach the 80K mark when only five matches last season attracted that many, and QB 2010 crowd numbered 67K?

Come on.

The Pies will try to run over us in the last quarter, but we'll be fresh from 10 days break.

Ricky Petterd to have a blinder.

Did I hear correct that they were sending Brown to Arizona as well, or was it Jolly, or even both ?

Next Monday will be even better than last night.

90,000 at the G to watch the Dee's win by 30pts.

All the hype will follow, and everyone will be talking us up as contenders. Then we will lose to Freo at home the week after.;)

I think you've hit the nail on the head here. This is exactly the sort of thing we've come to expect of the team. Even so, I don't see us winning this one. Maybe a really close and hard-fought loss then getting demolished by Freo?

I've calmed down since our win the other night. It'll be close for the first half, however Collingwood will find their next gear and blow us away like Hawthorn did earlier in the year. No Swan and Thomas will help us, although it also takes away a great learning opportunity from the young mids. At least Pendles is still there.

I'm more concerned about us getting over Freo, WB and Richmond. Particularly WB at Etihad, if we can manage a win there then it truly shows we're on the improve.

I just have absolutely no idea whatsoever. I could see any result between collingwood winning by 80 points to us winning by 30 being possible. It all depends on which Melbourne turns up. Im a little worried that we arent going to have anything to stir us up this week. We seem to play well and bring a really good intensity to matches where we need to respond to some sort of criticism. Lets hope the boys can put Friday nights win into perspective and understand that it means nothing if we dont back it up with another good performance this weekend.Pies by 32.

The fact that it's against the best team in the comp and in front of a huge crowd on Queens Birthday should be enough... and if you factor in our last two encounters with Collingwood, i doubt they'll be lacking motivation.

The fact that they're running out to play a game of football should be enough to motivate them every week...

Both (plus Mcaffer (sic?) and someone else - maybe Blair).

Either way...one week at a time hey.

Fwiw, Freo proved again why they can be a handful yesterday. No disgrace there.

You've got to start cracking down on your marketing of gambling old55. It's getting out of control.

PS. Please submit a direct line in case I wish to get on before the bounce ;)

the $11 I saw for the Bombers at 3/4 time looked tempting

Bloke at work gave me 12:1 so I jumped @ $20. Saying that Melbourne by 19pts

At this point who knows what the team will look like

however we will still have a number of our best players out.

We have played 2 good games this year IMO and we are facing one of the two best teams in the competition.

There is day light between the Pies and the rest.

I expect us to be in the game till half time

But unfortunately then the Pies will pull away.

Loss by 5 goals if we play as well as this 22 can.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
