Obviously it's now a massive question as to who picks up Pendles. Without Swan and Thomas, if someone can keep him relatively quiet I think it will greatly increase our chances.

I don't think Jones would be a bad match up all.

Beams out also.

would be handy to have Flash back this weekend considering how well he played against them last year, but I'm loving our current midfield line up. I reckon we are a chance. I'll be there nevertheless.

I think Melbourne will win but I always do, the margin is of no consequence winning by a point would do.

Must have been one of the few who did last week I got 8 winners plus a bonus point on the Demonland tipping.

If we are close at three qtr time we will win.

I look forward to admitting you were correct.

Last year the Dees drew and lost by a point in their two games with the eventual Premiers. Liam Jurrah did not play in either game. Surely it's time to let him off the leash and let him go for his marks and he could help get the Dees across the line on monday.

This is an interesting point. Did Jurrah play against the Pies in 2009?

Given that we kind of poached him from Collingwood it would be great to see him rub salt in the wounds with a 5-6 goal haul. Could be the difference

I'm coming from Canberra, as I do every year. Love it!

Ditto!!

Weather forecast for Monday is mostly sunny with a minimum of 8 & a maximum of 15 - chance of rain 30%. I reckon if this forecast remains accurate, we will get around 65,000 to 75,000 at the G.

Regarding the game, unfortunately my confidence with a win is not very high. I see a resemblance to the Dorks game, competitive until half time, then it will slip from us. Filth by 45 points.

This game will be our Waterloo.

The second blinder for the inform fab 4, Gyberts,Mckenzie,Scully and Trengove.

Watts and Jurrah to star.

Moloney,Sylvia and Jones to crunch bodies.

Frawley and Rivers to Punch everything outta sight.

and a few surprises as well, Howe to kick 4.

I reckon they will bust a gut to win this, itll be the day we arrive as a side.

Dees by 21points!

This will be Jurrahs first game against Collingwood.

I've got a good feeling about Watts and Jurrah this week :) .

"Yes Excellent Smithers....."

According to the Herald Sun today Melbourne Coach Dean Bailey last night was buoyed by the Pies midfield woes

No Swan, No Thomas and no Beams-- its a oppurtunity for us Bailey said on radio."

It certainly is a oppurtunity, the only question is, are we now up to grabb that oppurtunity and make the most of it

Based on last weeks performence one would be tempted to say we would , but ............

I get more worried without them there as they will try to lift to replace them. Nonetheless it is a great oppurtunity if we bring our "A" game. With Watson and Hocking missing last week i thought our midfield would run too deep and would trouble them and turned out true. Another game under Scully and Trengoves belt is surely going to help. Step up Dees!

got a feeling Scully is going to dominate this one and Watts will be getting a lot of attention for the right reasons this time

I get more worried without them there as they will try to lift to replace them.

Surely you wouldn't rather them having their best side..?

That's like saying that we'd rather have all of Jamar, Garland, Grimes, Trengove and Scully out (as we did a few weeks back) because the other guys are trying to lift to replace them.

With no Swan, Thomas, Jolly and Beams, we have a good chance. Of course, things would be easier if we had Jamar, Grimes, Garland, Bail, Tapscott and an in-form Davey.

I reckon they'll beat us by about four goals, but I can see us being in the contest until at least three quarter time. I fear that even if we are in front at the final change, they will smash us to pieces in the fourth.

A Draw for mine also.

not to mention Sylvia and Bartram either out or underdone

Let's face it, there's no reason we can't win on Monday

I can see us running out of legs and losing by 6 goals.

Melbourne paying 5$ good value put $100 on em but I'm not

Overly confident.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
